SEPTEMBER 1 1972 | SECOND SCHOOL YEAR

CHAPTER ONE

DOG  DAYS

The first day of school was like always the worst. The summer was over the once balmy weather now rainy and utterly insufferable . Well for the most people it was for Magnolia tho it was a god given gift. She didn't miss anything about summer break or the hot weather she rather loathed it. The brawls with her parents about her so unserious twin-brother and the constant bickering he had with her little brother Regulus was definitely things she wouldn't miss this school year. And to add to that hell it was always boiling hot.
"A penny for you thoughts" the sharp echo of a mans voice bringing her back.
"What?" she ask halfheartedly , completely oblivious to the brown-haired boy before her. "What's got you so deep in thought?" he asks. He knows he shouldn't ,the answer staying always the same. An other worldly 'Nothing' which only irritated him more, keeping him in the dark . This time Remus couldn't help himself , his curiosity getting the better of him. Magnolia was always like that quiet , and reserved sometimes even cold, much dissimilar then Sirius who always had a joke to crack up. Maybe that's what Remus liked most about her. She was a welcome change from his so unusual friend group or maybe it was just the fact that they understood eachother without having to speak much.

"Just school" she responds her voice breaking the peaceful silence.
"And Reggie it's his first year I remember when I first stepped on the train I was so nervous-" Remus cut in
"that you almost puked, yeah I remember" he replies with a teasing smile. Remus chimed in again
"He'll be okay Mag he has you and Sirius doesn't he?" Magnolia seems to think about it her eyebrows frowning together like so often when they had played chess together.

"Well yes but he's always been the quiet-loner type of boy ,and I doubt Sirius would even think about spending time with him" mumbled the black-haired girl looking out of the window now fogged from the rain that started to fall a few minutes ago.

As she looks back at Remus she notices the dainty bruise on his face she couldn't help but wonder how it was at the orphanage while she was happy about having her own room back at grimmlaud place she would envy Remus as much as she would feel pity for him. Don't get her wrong she loved her mother and father but she also detested them at the same time. Their constant drive for power and pride really beguile but at the same time nauseating. She got their train of thoughts of course, power was important when you wanted to get far in life which for a fact magnolia wanted to get, an influence to many and highly respected. Tho she couldn't shake the feeling that her parents were somewhat blinded by the beauty of it. The cabin door swings open making Magnolia turn her head around .God how she loathed Sirius company sometimes.

"Care for company my dear sister" he sneered with the smug smile she hated so much and he knew it.
"Certainly not yours brother" responded magnolia before she could add another smug insult, which she had plenty of for her overly annoying twin the once quiet boy cut in once again
"No need for your famous disputes, I was planning on coming back to Jame's cabin in a few minutes anyway..." he said rather in a irksome tone. Sirius was the complete copy of Magnolia the black hair and the bambi eyes that added to their charm. Tho if you had asked Remus which twin he prefers more he would always answer Magnolia. She was rather observant and a damn righteous friend he didn't oppose her company.Ever. Quite the opposite when it came to Sirius who could some times be a little to much. His pranks going to far or his jokes being a little to dark. Remus and Sirius were like two branches of the same tree, growing in different directions yet rooted together. While magnolia was a shelter in the storm of life. What the brown-haired boy didn't know at that time was the treachery of them both would be the most dreadful thing that he ever had to  endure.
