Chapter 1 - Part 3

The chief found the strength to speak. "Who did this Stevens? Did they leave behind any calling card or evidence?" Stevens shook his head. The chief scoffed and mumbled something that sounded like "bloody useless..." Stevens pushed open the batwing doors and was immediately greeted by the CSI. "We got no prints off the body and the only person left inside was the bartender, he's not talking." Stevens exhaled as the CSI pointed to where the interrogation was happening. Stevens shoved open the bathroom door.

The bartender was hunched over, tied to a wooden stool, with blood all over his face and hands. He slightly raised his head and smiled. Showing his bloody teeth. "Still not talking?" Stevens asked. The bartender spat out a mouthful of blood. Stevens smirked and pulled out his baton. "Who did this?" He asked, grabbing the man by the chin with his right hand. The bartender slightly opened his mouth. "Animals..." he croaked, barely louder than a whisper. Stevens struck him with his baton, on the temple, he groaned loudly as Stevens rolled up his sleeves. "Fine." the bartender spoke softly. Stevens crouched in anticipation. "It was two men. They never introduced themselves but...she called one the hypnotist. The other man had a suit and cold, unforgiving eyes. And a large 'O' on his jacket."

Stevens finished noting. He pounced on the mans arm, clawing at the large gash and struck it. The bartender grunted and winced. "What did they tell you to do?" Stevens uttered. He took a heavy breath. "They told me to trap her in with my enchantments...they knew everything about me. The suited man said he expected an attack and paid me to turn a blind eye." Stevens eyes widened. "Thank you Alastor, your co-operation won't be forgotten." He untied the man and left, calling for the chief.
