He looked into my eyes. He wanted a pure answer.
"You were saved. There's nothing more to that answer." I replied. There was truly nothing more to that answer. Nothing could be done at that point that would change anything.
Absolutely nothing...The thrones in the heavenly skies seemed to take notice of this boy and they seemed to deem him worthy.
I looked at the sky and turned to my primordial form. "You dare to take another one of my subjects for your experiment, miserable wretches? How dare you disregard the experiment of the disciple of your gamemasters?"
"We have no respect for you. You show up unannounced and then take up the spots that we have been carrying for years? How dare you presume that we are on even talking terms. This is one place where you have no right to speak, so pipe down. There are still many more things to be worried about rather than the respect we show you. However, there is still something that bothers me, and it is with this child. I feel like he would be an excellent candidate to become a new candidate for the experiment."
That was the All-Father Odin. That miserable drunkard has no business stating these lines and then acting all high and egotistical.
"Just know, I have every right to completely shatter this experiment. The only reason why I chose not to is because I respect my masters. Therefore, you guys are not even worth my time. Just get off my back." I replied.
Odin: "It makes no sense. This is a potential candidate for me and I shall make him mine. Hey kid, do you want to know the actual secret of this world?"
I was in no mood to handle this especially when Clara had just sacrificed herself to make sure that this man did not get any sickness again.
In a fit of rage, I hurled a misty lance at the sky from where Odin was speaking and then let my lance rage in the atmosphere.
"As you know, you might not be able to see her again, boy. She sacrificed herself to become part of an experiment so that you may be free. I am afraid that you two might not be able to see each other. I tried to warn her, but she was insistent on making sure that you would be fine." I told him in a rather convoluted manner. I didn't want to attract any more potential gods to our location.
"I loved her. She was ... I loved her to bits. You cannot take her away from me. Aren't you the messenger of love? Can't you do anything about it?", the man asked with heavy tears in his eyes.
He truly looked like a man who had just lost everything in his life. "Please tell me, I beg you". He pleaded and begged me to find him a solution.
"There is one solution, but it would go completely against what I would want you to have. Against what Clara would have wanted.", I told him.
"Does not matter. If I am forced to live in a world without her, I might as well be sacrificed to the gods for something that I have not done. I have no worth living in this world without her." It seemed as though the man had truly changed. "Let me tell the world, that I am ready for the truth. That I, Egoister, am truly ready for everything that can be thrown at me. I have nothing to lose, and I don't know what to gain. Therefore, I have a very weird perspective on this matter. Therefore, make sure that I get the deal properly."
Egoister looked at me sternly. His eyes glistened like the twin moons of Bakaskas. At that moment, a heavenly barrier seems to have opened in front of Egoister.
"Do you want to know the truth?"
