I know that it was supposed to be a play on words because the image I used as a cover says 'The thing about pain is it demands to be felt.' I would argue that if you swap out Payne for Pain in that particular sentence that things start to get real weird. Sadly I didn't elaborate any further so I don't even know what to say but you see where I was going with that.
I can tell you for a fact that I didn't know a single thing about Liam Payne other than his name.
