Oliver knelt down while simultaneously reaching into the brown bag with his right hand. "I don't need this as much as you do." He spoke softly as his hand opened up revealing the piece of chicken he had taken from the brown bag.
The cat purred as it coyly took the chicken from his hand. They soft purrs emitted from the cat until small droplets started to fall. He looked up, as did the kitten. "Shit..." he contemplated his next moves.
"Fuck it." He grumbled. Oliver opened his sweater and pulled the kitten into the sweater then wrapped it tightly. He made sure the kitty was tightly wrapped and cozy. The purrs began again and they made their way back to Oliver's apartment. Even if he hated having his parents name, it still had its perks. The apartment wasn't very fond of animals but they let it slide especially when he 'accidentally' mentions his parent's name.
He ascends the stairs, slightly brushing against a woman's arm. She seemed like she was in a rush. She turned to him and apologized insincerely then went back to rushing. It happened once more with a man but the man actually seems to care. "Hey Jarnelle. How are ya doing?" Oliver asked while he rearranged so the cat was laying on his forearm so he could unlock it with his right hand.
"Doing alright. How are you?" Her thick Irish accent always itched a scratched he never seemed to expect even when her planned on talking to her. "Ah I'm alright. Boring uneventful day." She gave a slight understanding and agreeing nod. They both went their respective ways and didn't see each other for the rest of the day.
He walking into his room, placing old, not really worn clothes onto his bed and toying around with them until they looked like a diy cat bed.
He lovingly set the small cat down in its new, temporary, bed. Sitting next to it he whispered lovingly before landing on the name lilac, Lila for short. He repeated the name out loud a couple times and smiled. His new baby, Lila.
