Ring, Ring, Ring annoyed I roll out of bed. "What time is it..." I softly whisper to myself as my eyes adjust to the slight sunshine that seeks through my bedroom window. Quickly I grab my phone and see a missed call from my best friend maria following with a message.
maria: where are you! I thought we were meeting up.
Olvia: I just woke up. Where am I supposed to meet u at again?
maria: Joes coffee shop remember? me and Diago are waiting hurry up!!
Oliva: fine ok ok I'll be there in a sec girly.
maria: okay goodbye love you!
Swiftly, I switch off my phone and roll out of bed to get ready. Minutes later, I emerge from the bathroom clad in a loose-fitting shirt and jeans, my hair casually tied in a messy bun. I run downstairs where I am greeted by my mom. "Hey mom!" I say feeling uneasy about everything she has told me last. She offers no answer, merely standing there with a look of guilt etched across her face. I go to walk out the door when all of a sudden, I hear her voice. "Where do you think you're going." She speaks from behind me. "To go see maria and Diago..." the words leave my mouth making her look of guilt fade. "Hurry up. Your dad will be here shortly to see us before u leave next week." I regard her with animosity. Quickly I rush outside, hoping to keep the tears at bay. I get into the car and head to the coffee shop.
20 minutes later
Sitting in the coffee shop, I'm overwhelmed by the thought of parting ways with my friends. As an hour passes, my phone interrupts the silence once more. Ring, ring, ring. I quickly answer, realizing it's my mother calling. "Get home now! your dads here!" The voice from my phone speaks loudly, sending chills down my spine. My thoughts are overwhelming my mind when I'm interrupted by the sound of my phone hanging up. I hurry home, but as I reach the door, my body seizes up, paralyzed by the fear of opening it. As I open it slightly, I'm shocked to see my father in a suit laughing and talking with my mom. Perhaps he has changed but, the thought of living with this maniac still leaves me feeling scared.
