I am jolted awake by the blaring alarm on my phone, ringing incessantly. I hastily press snooze before rolling out of bed, my hair in disarray. I walk out of my room and into the bathroom, carrying my clothes. Half-asleep, I turn on the shower and splash my face with cold water from the shower water. I quickly step into the shower, hoping the water will wake me. After that, I put on a snug black t-shirt and cozy grey sweatpants, grab my black bag, and head out the door to drive to school. Upon my arrival, I make my way to the school and enter my first period class. Shortly after class begins, the classroom phone interrupts with its persistent ring. After what feels like an eternity, the teacher instructs me to see Mrs. Williams, the principal. Although I'm used to seeing her, this time she seemed different. whenever I enter the waiting room, I noticed a girl wearing a perfectly fitted black shirt and baggy jeans. Her beautiful brunette hair cascades down to her lower back, and her stunning hazel eyes, framed by mascara, are simply breathtaking. Whenever she sees me, our eyes lock in a prolonged gaze until the fear of being hurt again distracts me. Hastily, I divert my gaze and head toward the office to find out why Mrs. Williams has called me. Whenever I enter her office, she greets me with a welcoming smile. "Hello, Noah!" she says, beckoning me into her office with a mere glance. ""Why am I here?" I ask, annoyed by how kindly she's acting. "There's a new girl, Olivia; I need you to show her around the school and to her classes," she says bluntly, picking up on my annoyance. "Why do I have to! Absoulty not! I won't show a random newbie to her classes!" I say eager to get out of the situation; just the thought of talking to that girl is unsettling to me. "Noah you are on your last straw, unless you want to attend a different school from your past behavior and issues with students, I suggest you show her around." She speaks in a manner that almost seems threatening. "But no other school will accept me, and you're aware of this! It's unjust!" I raise my voice, a mix of fear and fury coursing through me at the thought of my father's disappointment, knowing I may not take over the family business he has groomed me for. She glances at me, one eyebrow raised in response to my sudden outburst, and replies, "Your choice." I gaze downward, fiddling with the drawstrings of my sweatpants. After pondering for a few seconds, I finally respond with, "Fine." Mrs. Williams smiled before saying "Great" and leading me to the door. We walk into the waiting room, and I find myself starring at her once again. The moment I step outside, I'm greeted by her smile, with lips curled so perfectly they're worth a million. After a few brief moments of silence Mrs. Williams speaks up and says "Olivia, this is Noah. He will be guiding you around the school and showing you to your classes. Please feel free to talk to him if you need assistance with anything, right Noah?" I look at Oliva with pure annoyance before returning my gaze to Mrs. Williams "Mhm." Oliva shoots me her smile once again that makes my heartbeat speed up when all of a sudden, the principal says "great" and send us into the hall. While walking the only thing running through my mind was Don't look at her, you can't worry about some random girl. I ignore the thoughts, and we walk in silence until Oliva breaks the silence. "So, have you lived here all your life?" She questions as we walk past a big window with sunlight peering through the glass shinning perfecting on her hazel eyes causing my breath catch in my lungs. "Yup." I respond sharply, hoping to deter her from initiating a conversation and to diminish my feelings. "You're not much of a talker, are you?" she questions while looking me up and down. "With cheerful brats like you, no" Before I can fully process my words, I glance at her, hoping not to have caused offense, but her expression suggests otherwise. She looks at me as if just a few words can break her heart. "I'm not a brat... for your information. I know I'm cheerful, but you don't have to be rude about it." She looks at me with sad doubtful eyes that break my heart but, it's worth not failing in love again. "Whatever you say newbie" I say feeling a little guilty about being mean.  Finally, I drop her off at her first class, secretly admiring how she enters with a shy gait that she swiftly transforms into a confident stride. After she enters, I walk away, heading outside the school towards the bleachers across the football field, and light a joint to ease my overwhelming thoughts of Olivia.

I left you all with another brief cliffhanger because I stayed up late to write two chapters in one night. Much love! I'm thrilled to be writing this book and am genuinely excited to see how it unfolds. The possibilities that come with this book are endless. I'm already immensely grateful for the 40 views it has received so far! Thank you! Also, I lied this is the longest chapter so far, much apologies lol! xoxo
