My eyes flutter open, and my blurry vision slowly comes to. I can feel my heart beating out of my chest as I realize my hands and feet are bound. Oh god, my feet are tied to the bottom of the bed, and my hands are bound to a headboard.

    No.

My head pounds like I've been run over by a train as the memories of Miles holding a damp cloth over my mouth and nose wash through my mind.

I pull and thrash against the ropes as hard as I can. But it's bound so tight that the rope rubs and burns my limbs. No, no, no. This can't be happening.

My breathing is so shallow that my chest tightens with each inhale.

    Breathe, Jess, breathe, goddammit.

I turn my head, groaning. A small lamp sits on the bedside table, offering a dim glow throughout the small bedroom. The floors and walls are wooden, reminding me of a cabin. It's quiet besides the faint chirping of birds I can hear outside. We must be in a cabin. We must be in the woods.

The door creaks open, and Miles walks in with a dark expression on his face.

"Good, you're awake," he folds his arms, leaning on the door frame as he studies me. "It's a shame things had to come to this."

"Wha... what are you talking about? Let me go, Miles."

"That won't be happening. You were supposed to be mine, Jess."

My mind races. What the hell is he talking about? This asshole is insane.

    "Let me go," I repeat.

    "No," he spits.

"You tried to rape me!" I yell. "Then you drove us off the road and killed my mom! You took her from me, you monster!"

"I wouldn't have had to do any of that if you had paid attention to me, you bitch!" he roars, making me flinch. "You're mine now; get used to it."

There's no way in the world I'm his. That word coming from his mouth makes me want to vomit. The only person I want to hear that sentence from is Damon.
