In the heart of the battlefield, two figures stand amidst a desolate landscape. Once lush grass now lies lifeless and brown, rustling mournfully in the breeze. The ground, scarred by the ravages of war, is deprived of sunlight, casting a gloomy shadow over the surroundings. The wind whispers a mournful sound as the natural beauty of the environment is marred by craters, charred trees, and a muddy field, all enveloped in a nauseating stench. And beneath the watchful eye of the storm... two forms confront each other.

One of the individuals, a teenage boy holding a great sword. The other individual is a young woman who is wearing a purple dress that radiates signs of divinity. The teenage boy steps forward and states, "Auralia, let's finish this. Nihilrend." As he states the name of the noble sword, it begins to glow bright white. Nihilrend, also known as the Immortality Breaker, could cut through just about anything, including space time itself. This was the only known weapon that could kill her, the last archon, a being so powerful that it was close to that of a god.

The woman called Auralia smiled, her expression resembling that of a devil, as she responded, "I agree, this has lasted far too long. Nyx, it's time to end this." Nyx, her own sword, emitted a dark glow. Although Nihilrend and Nyx didn't differ much in terms of power, one blade brought good while the other brought evil. Despite being god-killing weapons, a single strike wouldn't instantly kill a target. There was a short period of time where the person struck would survive until they eventually vanished. So even if either one landed a hit, they would still have to dodge in order to avoid death.

But this was only the case if they still had plans of living. Neither of these two individuals planned on surviving after this encounter. With their demise in mind, both charged towards each other, each landing a single strike onto the other. In that instant, a blinding light emanated from each sword. Before the light vanished, a female voice was heard, "Take the peaceful life I was never able to give you."

A blaring alarm abruptly jolts the teenage boy from his sleep. Groaning, he fumbles to silence the intrusive noise, his head pounding with the force of a thousand drums. With a deep breath, he reluctantly pulls himself out of bed. Today marks the first day of high school for Jitsou and his twin sister, Riko.

As he stirred from his slumber, his mind still clouded with remnants of a peculiar dream. Gently rubbing his clear purple eyes, he murmured, "Why do I keep having that strange dream?" Outside, the sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow through the open window. A gentle breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers, signaling the arrival of spring. The sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating a particular photo on his bedside table — a snapshot capturing a cherished moment with his foster family and best friend Stephanie.

Jitsuo and Riko had no memories of their biological parents. They were adopted by their foster family when they were only a few months old. Shortly after their arrival into the new family, their neighbours also adopted a child, Stephanie Seraphina. The three of them quickly became close friends and over the years their friendship blossomed, attending the same elementary school, middle school, and now the same high school.

Just then, his li- I mean, twin sister barges into his room and attempts to hug him. Jitsuo, being the sigma he is, dodges her with ease, causing her to fall to the floor with a loud thud.

Jitsuo paid no attention to her and starts to walk towards the bathroom to get ready for school. While Riko pathetically gets up and snaps at him, "That was quite rude, you know some people will kill to have a cute sister like me."

Before leaving he remarks "I'm the type of guy to have weird fetishes likes that. I don't know what type of person you take me as. Come in hurry up and get changed, I'm not about to be late on the first day of school."
