"Ishwari! You have to prepare a sweet dish for us! The first dish you prepare after your wedding should be a dessert! A sweet! So, all your life will be as sweet as the one you prepare!", Draupadi said while everyone was talking in the hall. Vaishnavi, who sat near Kunti, said, "thanks for the hint, Krishnaa! I'll add an extra 2 cups of sugar then!", making everyone laugh. Karenumati nudged her from beside and said, "Oh yeah yeah! You give us the normal one only! You will add Extra sweet for your already sweet husband, isn't it?", making everyone giggle at her teasingly.
She couldn't take the teasing anymore and excused herself, "I- I'll go prepare the sweet!", and immediately left the place with irritation, which caused her cheeks to flare in red. Vijaya said, "look at how red her cheeks have become!", everyone giggled again. She was listening to this while going into the kitchen, and muttered to herself, "oh my! My cheeks did not go red because of blushing! I understand my friends now! This is why my friends were Okay with marriage, not with relatives that come along!", and facepalmed herself. Arjun was just looking at her the whole time, and understood her uneasiness with the whole situation, and it's not her blushing away or something.
Arjun said looking at the disappearing figure of his wife and said, "Uh! Guys! I- just- I have work there! I'll be right back!". Valandhara said, "Arjun! At least look at us while saying this! Your eyes don't seem to leave your wife!", and vaishnavi stopped at her track to glare at him. Devika said, "She is going to be with you all your life for you to look at her, Arjun!". Arjun gulped as he just worsened the situation for her. "Go! Go and do your *Work*", Bheem said and laughed loudly. Vaishnavi shook her head in disbelief at him, and turned around to go to the kitchen.
Arjun didn't waste time and followed her, making everyone laugh more at his restlessness. Vaishnavi shouted in the kitchen, "Everybody! Out!", making them shriek in fear. Arjun came in and slowly said, "Everyone! Please wait outside until my queen says!", they all obeyed him and left the kitchen. He went towards her slowly playing with his angavastra, and stood beside her. With an awkward expression, he said, "D- Did you feed Simba?", making her glare at him more. He facepalmed himself and started saying, "Look! I- I'm sorry! I just made the situation worse! They- they don't seem to stop teasing me and you! Why don't you just go along with this until it dies down?".
She starts making something with the flour, while saying, "I'm okay with it! It's just that, they are teasing me for something that I was least interested in doing! Marrying you!". His heart felt a sting of pain, and he said, "Why are you behaving indifferent towards me? Don't you care about me?". She ignored him and started to knead flour, while he turned her around towards him and asked, "I'm asking you!".
"Tch! Arjun, let me do my work! It's kinda my duty now to prepare a stupid sweet!", she snapped, trying to get out of his hold. He held her tight, "Oh! Is it? Then, it's also your duty to please your husband!". She looked at him sharply and said unbothered, "Not gonna happen!", and turned back around to cook. He looked at her hurt and said, "I'm trying to mend things between us, and you- why are you always being rude? Is it because you did something you were least interested in? Mar- Marrying me?", he choked.
She felt her heart ping her a slight pain on hearing him choke his tears, but controlled herself. He continued, "You could have killed me instead of being lik-", hearing that, she immediately turned around and slapped him hard. He winced slightly and his face jerked sideways, with all the flour paste on her hand transferred to his cheeks.
She held him by his Angavastra and pulled his face towards her, "How many times I have to tell you to not speak like that, Arjun! I'll kill you if you die!", she said with tears. He turned his head towards her with his hand on his cheek and said, "This doesn't hurt much! But your behaviour is killi-", she pecked him on his lips cutting him off. He was startled for a moment and looked at her, "I told you not to utter bullshit, Arjun!", she said in a warning tone, tears streaming down her face.
