There are twenty minutes left before class starts.
Hanni goes to her desk and takes everything out of her backpack until it's empty. She stops and feels the paper in her pocket. She pulls it out, unfolds it and presses it down until it's straight.
[Helping Unnie Move Into Dorm]
Just then, Wonhee enters the classroom and greets Hanni. "Hanni, why are you so happy today?"
Hanni is startled and tries to control her smile.
"Nothing, I was just remembering a joke."Wonhee doesn't ask anything further. She glances at the bottle of milk on Hanni's desk and asks, puzzled, "Aren't you allergic to milk? Why did you buy this?"
Hanni goes quiet and puts the bottle of milk inside her drawer. "I took it by accident."
On her way home, Hanni wants to place the bottle of milk in the fridge, but she's afraid her mother will see it. After hesitating for a moment, she hides it in her treasure box.
Days pass. Even though Hanni's school and the university are so close that it only takes about five minutes to get there, she never has the courage to go. She could even pretend to be looking for her sister just to see Minji, but something always feels off. She worries that she won't be able to hide her feelings.
Half a month later, on the first day of summer vacation, when Hanni takes a bottle of milk out, her mother sees it. Roseanne tries to take it away, but Hanni refuses. Instead, she throws the milk away and thoroughly cleans the bottle. She even puts the homework Minji did inside it.
In early August, Eunwoo and Roseanne need to travel to another city for a friend's wedding, leaving only the two sisters at home.
On the second day, Yunjin's friend invites her out to play games. Not wanting to refuse, she changes her clothes and heads out of her room.
At that moment, Hanni is in the living room watching cartoons. Hearing noises, she glances over.
Yunjin starts putting on her shoes. "I'm heading out. Stay home and finish your homework."
Hanni understands what's going on, "You're going out to play?"
Yunjin trying to be evasive, replies, "Call me if you need anything."
Hanni retorts, "No."
Yunjin pauses and looks at her sister. "Are you trying to control me?"
Hanni turns her attention back to the television and opens a bag of potato chips. "What if a thief comes in? I can't fight."
"Just lock the door. No one will come."
"Then what if I get hungry and there's nothing to eat?"
Growing impatient, Yunjin glances at the bag of chips in Hanni's hand. "There are plenty of snacks. How could that not be enough?"
Hanni munches on the chips. "I don't want to eat snacks."
Irritated, Yunjin takes off her shoes. "What do you want to eat? I'll bring it home for you."
Hanni looks at Yunjin and replies, "I haven't decided yet."
"Little demon," Yunjin kneels down and pinches Hanni's cheeks forcefully. "When I was your age, dad and mom weren't home, I didn't just cook for myself, I cooked for you too."
Hanni's cheeks are pinched, so her words are unclear. "It's not the same."
"Why?"
"When you were my age, you didn't have an unnie." Hanni smiles slyly. "...but I do now."
