“𝐇𝐄 looks weird.”

“Right? He's been sitting in the corner with that stupid look on his face ever since we got back.”

“Oh! Maybe Shin hit his head or something!”

Lu and Hana whispered to each other as they observed the odd behavior of their clairvoyant. They had just returned home a short while ago, and from that moment, they were puzzled by his strange demeanor.

He is just there, quietly sitting in one of the monoblock chairs of the store, a hand propped under his chin. He didn't move an inch, his eyes staring blankly into space, seemingly lost in deep thought.

“Let's try to call Papa and Mama!”

“What happened?” Just in time, Sakamoto Taro and his wife appeared, both dressed nicely after their date. Hana, ever the cheerful child, instantly ran to her parents with a beaming smile. “You're home!”

“Yes, yes we are,” Aoi said, giggling as she playfully pinched her daughter's nose, initiating a lighthearted conversation. Meanwhile, Sakamoto turned his head to Lu, silently asking what was going on. She quickly explained what she and Hana had been discussing, pointing out Shin's strange behavior, who was still unmoving in his chair.

With a swift movement, the ex-legendary hitman patted Shin on the shoulder, the unexpected gesture making him jolt in surprise, almost toppling from his chair. “M-Mr. Sakamoto!”

“You're distracted.” Sakamoto observed the clairvoyant, standing up as he patted down his clothes and adjusted the chair to its normal position. His expression was a mix of concern and mild annoyance, although it is barely noticeable because of his stoic face. Shin felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him—he couldn't believe he had been caught in a daze, lost in thoughts of a girl he had just met earlier.

Heat rose to his cheeks, and he violently shook his head, trying to clear his mind and regain his composure. “How's your date, Mr. Sakamoto?” he asked, forcing a casual tone.

The older man didn't respond, turning his back to him as he walked toward his family. Shin noticed this silence, a bead of sweat trickling down his forehead as he remembered that his boss rarely divulged anything about their date.

The five of them happily ate their dinner afterward. The table buzzed with constant chatter, but Shin's mind remained elsewhere, absentmindedly calling out the name of the emerald-eyed girl between bites.
