Chapter 3: The Stray Devil and Priests

X-Mansion

As Kurt and Betsy were away from the mansion to walk around today, Rogue, Gambit, and Ashley were the only three present. Ashley finishes brushing her hair as she puts it down, walking out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. Rogue and Gambit were eating breakfast when they see Ashley walk into the room yawning, while just tying her school corset.

Gambit: Dreaming of Kuzuri, cendre?

Ashley: No?

Gambit: Be truthful with us.

Rogue: Come on, Remy. Let the girl relax. *picks up letter* Look what came in. 

Ashley walks over to Rogue, picking up the letter and seeing who it was from. 

Ashley: Rias?... She wants  to meet with me?

Gambit: She's the one that sent petite to spy on us.

Rogue: Quite odd for a devil to me so formal.

Gambit: What's more questionable is if a girl like her is hiding her true form.

Ashley: Only one way to find out. I'm gonna go meet up with her.

She pockets the letter as she finishes dressing into her uniform, by putting on the cloak and tie. She walks out the door as she makes her way to the cafe.

Kuoh Cafe

Arriving and walking inside, she looks around the cafe as she spots crimson hair in the distance. Knowing that's her, she walks over as she speaks up while taking a seat.

Ashley: I'm sorry I kept you waiting.

Rias: By all means, it's alright. 

Ashley: I'm going to be honest, I'm glad this conversation that was needed is is finally here. You must've been very confused since that day... And I'm very sorry if my other friends confused you more.

Rias: I'll admit, I was quite taken back by what was in my eyes... So, I take it you already know who I am, right?

Ashley: *nods* ... But to be honest, you don't really strike me as the devil?

Rias: I understand if you thought I were to actually look like one.... But I assure you, that's the case at all. Let's just say we always happen to look the same.

Ashley: 'So, she's not hiding a true devil form. Good to know.'

Rias: Well, I suppose I'll start somewhere. How much do you know of the Supernatural?

Ashley: Well, I have a little knowledge of it. And about the Great War the three had... But I've always thought those were legends from both bible and fairytales.

Rias: I can quite assure you, it's not just a story. But the one thing I can tell you is that the war ended without any reasons... All of the sudden, the angels, fallen angels, and devils decided to call it quits and turn around.... Many lives were taken that day. Pure bloods, along with half bloods, perished as well.

Ashley: Are you saying that the devils are facing extinction?

Rias: Not necessarily. In assurance to preserve our people, the devil kings created a setting that would allow humans to willfully reincarnate themselves either by choice or dying wishes... For example, when you two found Issei at the park bleeding, he was close to near death. He wished for me to help him, and so in return, I offered him a new life and that he serves me. 

Ashley: Serves? You're not treating him like a tool, are you?

Rias: I see them as family, and I'm very considerate of their choices and desires. For as long as I live, I will never see them as such.
