The college corridor was alive with the usual morning rush.... some Students were hurring past while some laughing while few were deep in conversation......

Sivaangi tried to blend into the crowd and her thoughts were focused on her project presentation.....

She wasn't in the mood for distractions especially not today beacuse she was missing her Best Friend who went to her home town....

She was supposed to return back today and Sivaangi who was already having enough in her plate felt little happy that she could push away all the negative thoughts in presence of her friend who would wordlessly comfort her in all her tough times....

but her parents insisted her to stay for two more days which made Sivaangi even more upset.... with these thoughts she turned the corner to her class and her heart sank at the sight in front of her....

There stood just a few feet away was the girl who had claimed to be Ashwin's girlfriend.... Her arms were crossed and her sharp eyes were fixed on Sivaangi....

The girl wasted no time said with her voice harsh cutting through the noise of the hallway.......

Girl : I warned u to stay away from Ashwin...

Sivaangi stopped in her tracks her heart racing.... She hadn't expected to be confronted like this out in the open....

But she wasn't the type to back down easily.... She squared her shoulders determined not to let the girl's words get to her.....

Sivaangi : Ashwin and I are just friends...

Sivaangi replied trying to keep her voice calm....

Sivaangi : ur threats won't change that.....

The girl's eyes narrowed frustration flashing across her face...

Girl : Friends?

she spat and her voice dripped with disbelief....

Girl : u think u can just walk into his life and take him away from me....

Sivaangi felt anger rising inside her... She hadnt done anything wrong... She wasn't trying to "take" anyone.... Ashwin had always been her friend and she wasn't going to let someone else make her feel guilty for that....

Sivaangi : I am not trying to take anyone away... Ashwin and I have been friends for a long time.... Nothing u say or do will change that....

Sivaangi said firmly which made the girl's face twist into a sneer....

Girl : u think being his friend is enough?u think u can compete with me?

Sivaangi didn't respond immediately but her heart was pounding.... She wasn't trying to compete.... She didn't want to be dragged into some petty fight.... But the girl wasn't done....

Girl : u are just a boring simple girl... Ashwin deserves someone exciting someone who can keep up with him... Someone like me not someone plain like u....

she continued with her voice laced with contempt and These words stung more than Sivaangi wanted to admit....

A part of her did feel plain and unremarkable compared to the confident flashy girl standing in front of her.... But she wasn't about to let that insecurity show.... Not now.....
