Rob wandered around town aimlessly in hopes to find something that could make him feel better. Something that could help him get through the day without ever thinking about Jane. Was that her real name? Where could she be right now? This town isn't that big of a place. He should be able to at least bump into her somewhere somehow.
After several hours of walking around, going in and out of shops, Rob found himself yet again, at the bar. It was hardly lunch time but this seemed to be the only place he could sit and drown his pain and miseries alone. As much as he wanted to forget the entire week he had with Jane, he really was trying to move on despite the pain.
Rob was even thinking about heading back to work that night. His shift usually starts at about 10pm. He had plenty of time to get himself ready. Both, mentally and physically. He was usually good at throwing on just about anything and make it look good. He somehow lost himself the entire time he spent with Jane.
She was able to make him do things he would never do. She was unpredictable and yet, so enticing. She had the ability to strip him down to almost nothing and yet, he felt her making him feel complete all over again at the end of the day. Even when he was not wearing anything, every time Jane looked at him, he felt as though he was looking his best.
Jane had these deep green, emerald eyes that looked like she was looking at only him whenever he puts on a show for her. He was someone in the eyes of Jane. She didn't have to throw any cash at him to make him do what she wants him to do. Her voice was soft like she was whispering sweet nothings to him in a language that was only meant for them to understand.
What was he thinking? The contract clearly stated that there was not to be any form of emotional attachment involved. What was it that he was yearning now? She must have more important things to attend to that did not require her to ever think of him ever again. Even when he was sitting across the bar from her, Jane would always ignore him when she was working.
The bar tender decided to interrupt Rob's deep thoughts as he was staring at his drink.
Bar Tender: Hey, you really shouldn't be ordering if you ain't planning to drink any of it. This is the 5th day I see you sitting here and staring at the glass like you're not even here. You okay?
Rob: I.... I'm fine.... I just......Erm......
Bar Tender: Listen.....If you need help.....I can recommend you someone.....
Rob did need help. Not in that manner. The most sensible thing to do was probably to get some psychiatric help. He ought to see a therapist to talk over this problem. What ever it was.
Rob: I'm fine. I just need some time.
The bar tender wrote some numbers on a piece of paper and slid it over to Rob. He took a look at it and smiled.
Rob: Thanks.
Rob was about to leave. As he got up to get his wallet out from his pocket, the TV turned on to the news channel. He placed the cash onto the bar and looked up at the TV screen. A familiar face came on. She had light brown hair and she had deep green, almost emerald-like eyes. She was giving a statement about something that seemed important. It was a business-related segment. As she spoke, her name was displayed on the screen. Her name was not Jane. In fact, her name was much more intricate than what he could ever imagined it to be.
Rob took out his phone and typed her name on the notepad and smiled. He had found her. This was a good sign.
