It all started last summer. My sister and I were sitting on the front porch, enjoying a warm night of July. I was reading a book and my sister was on her phone. That's when I looked up and saw him.
Our neighbor.
I don't know what it was about that little moment, but I felt something I hadn't felt in years. He caught my attention. I just didn't understand: why now? We've been neighbors for years and I never cared about him. So what was so special about this moment?
All I remember is his walk. He was walking so confidently, like he didn't have a care in the world. I liked that. I don't know why but I did. After he disappeared from my sight, I just went back to reading my book.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Ellerie and I'm eighteen years old. I go to college and my secret is that I'm a little bit of a writer myself. I've only written one book and I did it anonymously of course. Here's something you should know about me: I am a coward. I've always wanted to be a main character like the ones I read in all those romance novels but I never was. No guy has ever come up and talk to me. Obviously I've never had a boyfriend before although sometimes I dreamt of having one. I really wanted to experience love but I knew it wasn't in the cards for me.
Maybe I don't deserve to be loved..
So when I saw our neighbor and felt that spark again, I decided it was time to make a move. But my intentions were purely "academic". After accepting that I won't ever find true love, I realized that I don't need a boyfriend. I simply need a little experience so I can write my next book. This time, I want it to be perfect and that's why I'm gonna use my crush as a pawn. I want my next book to be a masterpiece. But don't get too excited dear reader, after all, this isn't a love story.

Also, how do I convince him to play my game..?
