Chapter Eighteen

"Don't mess up Leo"

I sigh as my father's words keep repeating in my head. This is just bad, too good to be true. A fantasy that has no happy ending. In the end, someone must get hurt and the thought of that alone makes me question everything I'm doing now.

Again, is this all worth it?

Right now, I'm a confused soul. I don't know if I love Sophia or it's just part of the plan for revenge. Asking her to be my girlfriend was something I did on impulse to get the plan moving quickly, but last night...Huh! I do not regret last night.

It was magical, wonderful, splendid, no words can even describe it. The way her hair was all over the place, her body slammed to mine, and the heat of the moment took over, oh shit! She was divine.

Enzo texted me saying dad wanted to see me. I can't escape him for long, I got myself into this and there's no going back.

Sophia and I went back to the penthouse and now I'm on my way to see him. I'm sure he had someone follow me to see if I'm not messing up.

Well, I am.

I don't want to do this anymore, but then I think of Valentina and how she'd want me to avenge her. I don't care if she didn't love me. There's no way she didn't feel something. I'm sure she lied just to get away from my father.

She did love me.

Did she really?

I pull up into my father's mansion and round up the car to get a place to park. I hand the keys to one of the valets and head to his office. That's where he always is, cooking up something despicable.

There was no sign of my stepmother and it made me worry a little. She's always around so why not today?

I knock on his door and enter. He was drinking again and smoking as well. I'm not even going to talk about it anymore, he can find his way to death for all I care.

"So you finally made it," He says, his voice raspy and stern.

"You wanted to see me," I say taking a seat.

"So, you've been enjoying yourself instead of going through with the plan," He says and drops his tobacco on the table.

"I wouldn't call it enjoyment, father," I roll my eyes and sigh. I wasn't ready to be interrogated, especially not by him.

"Leonardo," He says looking at me. His expression was cold and ugly.

"Yes, father,"

"You're a Herman, it runs through your blood and we always get what we want. This is us. I am going to get that company and you have to stop toying about and get serious!" he yells upon the last statement.

"I am only doing this for revenge, what if Sophia isn't the one I'm looking for?" I ask, my voice slightly rising and annoyance taking over.

"We made a deal, I found the killer of your lover and luckily she was my target. You gave me your word, don't you dare go against it. This is business, Leo," he says and sips his alcohol again.

I stand up abruptly and stare into his eyes. We were pretty much alike and I hated that.

"I'm leaving now, I'll get you your company very soon and you'll leave me the hell alone," The words just came out of my mouth and my mind was finally made up, I'm getting revenge and I'm doing that however way I can, even if it meant fooling Sophia in every damn way.

I'll get rid of these feelings developing into love and once I get what I want, it's over. I just hope she'll forgive me one day. A Herman never goes against his words.

I'm sorry, Sophia, but you're strong, you'll get over it.

Will you get over it?

"Good, that's what I wanted to hear," he says and I leave his office.

Old bastard.

I showered and had something to eat. I just started going through the documents I took from Sophia's office. It was a shareholder's file and it had the details of all the investors and the shares they had in the company.

She was linked with so many powerful people and that was so good for her business. No wonder she is so successful.

My eyes land on a specific file. It was hers, had all the information concerning her. I've been too busy to even check it out. I picked it up and stare at her name on it. Just as I was about to open it, my doorbell rang.

Who could it be at this time of the night?

I check through the monitor and see Sophia. Shit!

I quickly gather all the documents and send them to my office. She can't see them, not at all. I lock the door and compose myself.

I open the door and her face lights up. I manage to get a smile on my face, making everything look okay.

"Baby, I guess you've already missed me," I say with a smirk on my face, keeping it cool and chill. I should be an actor. I step aside for her to come in and close the door behind me once she does.

"I haven't been able to get you off my mind," She says standing very close to me with her hands on my chest.

I hold her by the waist and place a kiss on her forehead, " Oh really?"

"I'm going crazy, am I not?" She asks with her head buried in my chest. Blush coats her cheeks and she looked so cute.

Damn feelings, I can't wait for all of this to be over.

I can't fall in love with her, if I do, there's no turning back. I'll get attached and won't let go.

I lift her head so her eyes look into mine, "I'm going crazy too," I say, "Let's be crazy together," I add and she bites her lips.

My hands caress her bare skin.

I want this so bad, I want her so bad. Can't I have her with no strings being attached?

"Again?" I ask just to be sure she wanted this too.

"Mhmm, please," she says and wraps her hands around my neck.

"Oh my, I am obsessed with you," I say when my mouth his near her ear.

I kiss her, fiercely and roughly, enough to make her moan slightly. My hands make their way to her thighs, squeezing them and lifting her up. Her legs encircle my waist and I walk towards the couch.

I better enjoy all this while it lasts.

There is a part of me that wants this to last...

So, I'm determined to finish this book. My ideas are back and I'll make sure to complete it no matter what. This is Leo's POV and I hope it's good. Iluuu<3
