The Attack

Erin Lindsey adjusted her badge as she walked through the gritty streets of Chicago, the morning sun barely breaking through the clouds. As a detective in the Intelligence Unit run by her father, Sergeant Hank Voight, she was used to the dangers of the job, but nothing could prepare her for the ambush that awaited her.

Suddenly, a group of four men emerged from an alley, their faces twisted into cruel grins. "Look what we have here, a little cop," one of them sneered.

Before she could react, they grabbed her. Erin fought back, her training kicking in. But the sheer number of attackers overwhelmed her. They cut her arms with a knife, their laughter echoing around her.

"Tell me, how does it feel to be a cop?" one of them taunted as he ripped her badge off her chest. "You're just a girl; you're nothing."

After what felt like an eternity, they finally stopped. Bleeding and bruised, Erin managed to put her badge back on, steeling herself to walk into the district like nothing had happened. She knew she had to be strong, if not for herself, then for her father and her colleagues.

The Second Attack

The next day, as Erin made her way to work, the same group of men ambushed her again. This time, they were relentless. Their punches landed harder, and the knife cut deeper. She fought bravely, but it was no use. Erin collapsed on the pavement, the world fading to black.

When she woke up, she was in a hospital bed, the sterile smell of antiseptic filling her nostrils. She tried to sit up but winced in pain, her body aching.

A nurse entered the room, "Detective Lindsey, you've been hurt quite badly. You need to rest."

As the nurse exited, the phone rang. The hospital staff answered and soon handed the phone to her.

The Phone Call

"Voight," came a deep voice from the other end, concern lacing his tone. "I just got a call about Erin. What the hell happened?"

"Sergeant, it's... it's Erin," she stuttered, trying to keep her voice steady. "I... I got attacked again. It's bad, Dad."

"Erin, where are you?" Voight's voice was now filled with urgency. "I'm coming."

"I'm in the hospital, Dad. They... they're threatening me if I tell anyone. I didn't want you to worry," she admitted, guilt washing over her.

Voight's Reaction

Voight took a deep breath, anger and fear battling within him. "You're my daughter, Erin. Nothing is more important than your safety. We're going to get those bastards. Just hang tight. I'll be there soon."

After hanging up, Voight wasted no time. He gathered his team and briefed them on the situation. "Listen up! We have a detective in the hospital, and I want every lead on this group of thugs. They're going down, and I won't stop until they're in cuffs."

The Confrontation

A few days later, Voight's team tracked down the group of men. They were cornered in an abandoned warehouse. Voight led the charge, his voice booming, "You wanted to play games? Now it's our turn!"

As they arrested the men, Voight's anger was palpable. "You think it's funny to attack a cop? You'll pay for what you did to my daughter," he growled, glaring into their eyes.

Erin's Condition

Back in the hospital, Erin was recovering, but her injuries were severe. She had lacerations on her arms, bruised ribs, and a concussion.

"Will I be okay?" she asked the doctor, fear creeping into her voice.

"You'll heal, but it's going to take time," the doctor reassured her. "Rest and follow the recovery plan."

The Conversation

When Voight finally visited her, his expression softened. "You should have told me, Erin. Hiding this from me only made it worse."

"I didn't want to worry you, Dad," she replied, tears brimming in her eyes. "I thought I could handle it."

"You're strong, but you're not invincible," Voight said gently. "Next time, promise me you'll come to me. We're a team, and I won't let anything happen to you. Not on my watch."

Erin nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "I promise, Dad."

As Voight left the room, he glanced back, determination shining in his eyes. "Those guys are going to regret ever laying a hand on you."

Conclusion

Erin's resilience shone through even in the darkest moments. With her father by her side and the support of her colleagues, she knew she would heal—not just physically, but emotionally. The bond between father and daughter had never been stronger, and together, they would overcome any obstacle that came their way.

I hope you liked this one, I'm aware Erin doesn't normally call Voight dad in the shows but in my story she does.
