This one is a crazy one, so I hope you like it.

The familiar hum of Chicago Med, a symphony of beeping monitors and hurried footsteps, was shattered by a piercing crack. A single gunshot, echoing through the sterile hallways, sent a ripple of terror through the hospital.

"Code Silver! Code Silver! Active shooter in the ED!" The announcement crackled over the loudspeaker, replacing the usual calm with a cacophony of fear.

Dr. Ethan Choi, the stoic and ever-competent ED chief, was mid-procedure when the world tilted on its axis. He heard the gunshot, then another, followed by a guttural scream. His heart hammered against his ribs as he realized the chilling truth – they were under attack.

He rushed out of the trauma bay, his mind racing. The scene that greeted him was a nightmare. Dr. Earl, the burly security guard, lay crumpled on the floor, blood staining the pristine white tiles. And then he saw Choi, his best friend and colleague, slumped against the wall, a crimson stain blooming on his white coat.

"Ethan!" Dr. Will Halstead, his face pale with shock, cried out, rushing to his side.

Choi, his face pale but his eyes filled with a steely resolve, managed a weak smile. "Get the patients out of here, Will. This guy's got a gun."

The gunman, a young man with a haunted look in his eyes, was methodically moving through the ED, firing shots indiscriminately. Panic seized the room. Nurses and doctors scrambled for cover, pushing patients into nearby rooms, their faces etched with terror.

"Get back! Get back!" Dr. Natalie Manning shouted, her voice trembling as she herded a group of terrified patients into a supply closet.

Maggie, the head nurse, her face pale and her hands shaking, managed to usher a group of children and their parents into the pediatric waiting area, locking the door behind them.

Dr. Charles, the head of psychiatry, was in his office when the chaos erupted. He immediately recognized the severity of the situation. His mind raced, trying to find a way to help, to protect his staff and patients.

"Maggie, lock down the ED!" he shouted, his voice surprisingly calm.

The gunman, his eyes cold and calculating, was now approaching the main entrance to the ED. Ms. Goodwin, the hospital administrator, stood bravely at the entrance, her gaze unwavering.

"You need to leave!" she shouted, her voice firm despite the fear that pulsed in her chest. "This is a hospital! There are innocent people here!"

The gunman, his face twisted with a cruel smile, raised his gun and pointed it at Ms. Goodwin. "Get me supplies. Now."

Ms. Goodwin, her heart pounding, knew she had to act quickly. She knew that the gunman was unstable and unpredictable. She could try to reason with him, but she knew that could backfire.

"I'll get you supplies," she said, her voice steady despite the fear that choked her. "But you need to let everyone go. This is a hospital. We're here to help people."

The gunman, his eyes narrowed, stared at her for a moment. "I'm not here to help people," he said, his voice low and menacing. "I'm here to punish them."

He lowered his gun slightly. "Get me the supplies. And don't try anything stupid."

Ms. Goodwin, her heart pounding, turned and walked towards the supply room. She knew that she was walking into a trap, but she had to do it. She had to protect her staff and the patients.

As she entered the supply room, she could hear the gunman's footsteps behind her. She grabbed a large medical bag and filled it with supplies, her hands shaking.
