You might think it's stupid but the right shoes are very important.
You're walking through hotels all day and Atlanta isn't entirely flat hills. It's tons of sidewalk and walking steeply up hill. Also, you'll most likely have to walk up and down stairs because an escalator broke. Believe me, it happened three times in one day. It's also super crowded and sometimes the stairs are better. Believe me though, I ended up walking about eight miles in boots and my feet hated me afterwards.
I'm not saying don't wear your crazy heels or boots for your cosplay. But seriously bring some crocs or sneakers or something. Because you'll be halfway through a day wondering why the hell you chose those shoes. And you'll take them off at some point. I did while taking a break. Bring Tylenol also just in case your feet do start hurting but do sit down if it gets to that point. Switch out shoes and switch back later if you want.
