Awakening

Her mind was fuzzy when she opened her eyes after the sunlight hit her face. Waking her up from her slumber. Where she was greeted to the sight of the sight of some kind of cage. It was obviously made of metal from the looks of it, being a steel grey in color. It was very open, probably for something that would allow for something much bigger then herself.
Although she strangely couldn't move for some reason. Her muscles and just her body in general felt sore. So when she tried to flex the fingers on her left arm she couldn't. Strange. So she turned to look at it, and the sight made her jaws drop.
Not just because she was missing her left arm, almost entirely up to her elbow. But also because it was covered in some tannish-brown colored scales. With some deeper brown colored stripes lining it.
Obviously she blinked once or twice to see if she was blinking. But she wasn't. She realized her whole body was covered in the scales, if anything, she looked like a dinosaur. Which was confusing, she wasn't a dinosaur. She was a person.

Although she took notice that her back was primarily primarily a deep blue color, with what appeared to be deep brown stripes lining her back. Along with a single row of small triangular shaped spikes which led down to the end of her long tail, which was obviously used for balance. She then turned her head to look at her right arm.
Which was longish, and ended in three fingered hands that ended with claws, which resembled and eagle's talons. There was no way she was a dinosaur right? Her heart was thundering in her chest at a million miles an hour. She was a human girl- well almost young woman. HUMAN. Not a dinosaur.
Yet there was clearly evidence against this. As she noticed what appeared to be a water bucket close by to where she was laying. Obviously filled with water.
She struggled to pull herself over to it, her body aching the entire time. But when she did, she realized what she was as her reflection stared back at her. The pair of triangular shaped head crests above her eyes, the almost box shaped head. Those were all tell tale signs that she was now an Allosaurus somehow. The only human thing about her was her eyes, which were normal, but more to scale with her new body, which was kind of weird. But that's when some memories came screaming back to her.

She had been out in a forest at night, doing something she couldn't remember in the moment. Then she had her phone out begging for someone named Darius- her friend. Wondering where he was and why he wasn't there. Then an Allosaurus that was blind in one eye attacking her. Finally, a pain in her left arm and her blacking out.
But that was it. Although she remembered her name- Brooklynn.
The memories made her lash out instinctively and slam her head into the bucket weakly. But with her new body, she ended up knocking it over. Splashing lukewarm water all over her face. Which made her blink and let out a dramatic sigh of annoyance.
Brooklynn was officially over having this new body, and it didn't help that all of her sense had improved, so she was basically bombarded with all kinds of smells and sounds. It was horrible. There was nothing she could do about it now.

Especially since this was her new reality.  This was no dream, or nightmare. She was stuck like this, possibly forever now. So Brooklynn continued to lay where she was. Unmoving and just thinking things over. She had no idea how to act like a dinosaur, and she knew she'd have to relearn how to walk and pretty much do everything.
But it wasn't like she had anything else she could be doing. So Brooklynn set her mind to relearning how to walk. So she moved her aching legs to get them underneath her as she started to stand up. Although she stood up like a person and as a result, hit her head on the roof of the cage.
Which made her let out what sounded like a loud growl of pain. Which not only surprised her, but also made her instinctively duck down. Brooklynn's body naturally going to stand more horizontal rather then vertical. But she was still surprised by the fact she just bashed her head into the roof of the cage and let out a growl.
So she decided to try talking.

"I can growl?" She said, her voice was raspy and gravelly, but otherwise sounded fine. To her at least. She had no way of knowing if anyone else could understand her or not.
Which left Brooklynn confused. Maybe it was just a response to pain or something, but she didn't know for sure. Besides, dinosaurs weren't her specialty. It was...
Wait. She couldn't remember what she did. Or much of anything. She remembered her name, the names of her friends and what they looked like, and Nublar.
This left her confused on why her memory was so spotty. Maybe it was the shock from losing her arm. Or whatever caused her to turn into a dinosaur. Brooklynn didn't know.
But one thing was for sure, she missed her friends, a lot. Especially Kenji, who she remembered having a relationship with. Which they ended on a positive note. All because Brooklynn was obsessed with her phone.
Making her cringe internally at herself. Especially now more then ever.

However, she finally noticed the area around her and she realized that she was on a trailer, attached to a semi truck. Driving on a highway in a forest. This made her panic a bit as she realized that she was now captured by the Department of Prehistoric Wildlife.
Meaning she was going to spend the rest of her life in a cage. That scared her, it really did. As Brooklynn began to hyperventilate and freak out. Which along with a bump in the road, made her lose balance and fall.
With her hitting the ground with a heavy thud and she made a pained sounding, guttural whine sound from within her throat. This was going to be long. Really long.
But Brooklynn just stayed on the warmish metal floor of the trailer after that. Just staring out into the forest beyond the highway without saying or doing anything. Letting the sights to see entertain her. Letting out a long annoyed sighing sound.
She wished she had her phone right now. But Brooklynn knew it would be useless. She'd probably break it when trying to even unlock it, and she doubted anyone could understand her even if she did manage to call someone. After all, she was a dinosaur now.

But boredom was already getting to her now. With her quietly cursing herself for letting social media ruin her attention span. So Brooklynn just figured to take a nap or something to pass the time. Maybe when she woke up her body would be less sore then what it was now.
So she closed her eyes and just let sleep overtake her. Which wasn't really that difficult all things considered. Even if the cage she was in wasn't really the most comfortable thing ever.
