Amanda yawned and rolled on the bed. She was finally going to school today. She stood up and dragged her feet to the bathroom. After washing up, she came out, dried her hair and tied it into a ponytail. She opened her wardrobe and looked for a very simple dress. She didn't want to be the center of attraction on her first day. She took out a red short flair gown and wore it. She brushed her eyebrows and applied a little lip gloss to her pink lips. Then she wore a flat sandal.
Finally, she was ready.
She went downstairs to have breakfast.
Mom, she called when she didn't see her mom anywhere.
MOM, she called louder. She ran up to her room and picked up her phone to call her mother.

Hello baby, Irene greeted.
Mom, where are you? Amanda asked immediately.
Sorry baby. I had you worried. I left for work a bit early. I have loads of work to do, Irene explained.
Oh momma, Amanda cried.
Don't worry dear. Eat before you go out and I wish you good luck on your first day in school, Irene ordered.
Okay momma. I will bye.
After she ended the call, she made breakfast for herself and left for school when she was done. Her class was to start by 10am and she had one hour left. So, she strolled around the school premises.
When she got nearer to the library, she met a girl of her age. She had brown eyes, brown hair and was the same height with Amanda.
Hello there, the young girl greeted.
Hi, Amanda replied awkwardly.
Seems you are lost, the girl said looking at Amanda closely. Looks like a new fish, she thought.
Uhm well, I'm new, she admitted. So I'm just taking a stroll around the school.
Oh really. It's huge right? Amanda nodded.
By the way, I'm Ella.
The young girl introduced herself.
Oh, I'm Amanda, she said.
What a nice name, Ella complimented.
Thanks. I think my class is about to start, Amanda panicked thinking she was late for class already on her first day.
Which department are you, Ella asked.
Computer science, Amanda replied quickly not wanting to waste another minute there.
Whoa I think we are going to the same place too, Ella said with bright eyes.
Oh really, thank goodness. Let's go then, Amanda said and started running.
When they got to class, they settled down and waited for the lecturer to come in. Few minutes later, a tall young lady with a nice shape came in. She was the first teacher for the day. She noticed Amanda and asked her to introduce herself.
Hi everyone, Amanda started. I am Amanda Wills, 18 years of age and I am happy to be here.
Uhm miss Amanda, you can go back to your seat, the teacher said.
She went back to her seat and spent the rest of the day learning.
