It was the first day of practice for the newly united cricket team. The heat was intense, the sun glaring down on the field as the players gathered, uncertain about how this new arrangement would work.

Shubman and Ishan both stood against each other with their arms crossed, glaring the other in a challenging spree, there respective team mates stood backing them following there leaders, the tension in the air was too quite, awaiting the Strom that may strike any movement.

The coach of the both teams were too high paying previously, the resignation left the team unguided. with no middleman to resolve the conflict, they had a free regin to break the rules.

Both the herd walked opposite ways boring looks to the other, the Team may be one, but the TEAMS wasn't.

The Cold War went for a week, apart from the occasional murdering looks everything seemed to be on place.

Inter College tournament was held every year where different teams from all over the state participated, earlier both the teams fell in different time category but now there were to be enrolled as one.

Both the team called the truce dividing the work and pattern of players participating along the Captaincy. It was the time of inter college practice tournament, basically a friendly practise match between all the teams, which made both the teams compromise according to there convince.

Shubman and Ishan, alternate the Captaincy turn wise on an alternative basis.

Today was the first match between St. Marie's and Maurya Scholars.

Shubhman was captain of the day, which had already put Ishan to a rotten mood, and he went over the way to make it well known going against all the decision.

Shubman cleared his throat and addressed the team.

"Alright, listen up. We need to approach this season with a clear strategy. We have to be disciplined and play according to plan. There's no room for mistakes."

Ishan, standing nearby, rolled his eyes, mimicking the captain adding his own sass for the effect "Strategy, strategy, strategy". You sound like a broken record, man. Cricket isn't just about plans. It's about passion, instincts, and seizing the moment. That's how we win."

Shubman turned to Ishan, his face stern. "Passion without control is chaos. We can't afford to be reckless. This isn't some street match. We have to be smart."

"Smart? Or slow?" Ishan shot back, his tone mocking. "You science guys always overthink everything. While you're busy analyzing every little detail, the game passes you by."

The players exchanged glances, feeling the tension growing between their two captains, technically one, but it wasn't one, was it?

Some of the science players stood behind Shubman, nodding in agreement, while others, mostly from commerce, sided with Ishan.

"Why don't we just split the responsibilities?" Mayank, one of the players suggested, trying to diffuse the situation. "Shubman can handle the strategy and field placements, and Ishan can focus on the batting and momentum."

Though it was agreed, the unity was still nowhere to be seen. Shubman and Ishan both tried to impose their vision on the team, leading to confusion and frustration among the players.

Match became a tug-of-war among the team itself, with Shubman constantly stopping the game to correct field placements and lecture on technique, while Ishan pushed for faster, more aggressive attacking statergy.

Maurya Scholars smashed a 148/1 in 12 overs, paving a way for high target to be chased.

Shubman had set a defensive field, "We have to pressure them into making mistakes," he explained.

Ishan, on the other hand, was impatient. He watched from the boundary, growing increasingly frustrated as the opposing team chipped away at the runs.

"This is pointless," Ishan muttered under his breath, walking over to Shubman. "We're not even trying to get wickets. They're just playing us."

Shubman didn't look at him. "Patience. They'll make a mistake soon enough."

Ishan couldn't take it anymore. "No, they won't! You're too scared to take risks. This is why your approach never works in real games. It's safe, but it doesn't win matches."

Finally, Shubman turned, his eyes narrowing. "My approach doesn't work? I've led my team to two championships. What have you done? Run around like a headless chicken?"

The insult hit Ishan hard. He stepped forward, his jaw clenched. "You think you're better than me? Just because you play it safe doesn't mean you're a better captain. At least I know how to win when the pressure's on."

Shubman stood his ground. "Winning without a plan is just luck. And luck runs out, stop being a nagging bit*h."

"What the bloody hell, bc how dare you to call me that?" Ishan's voice rose, his fists clenching. "Maybe we should settle this right now."

The game was long forgotten, all eyes were on them, the argument that started with a suppressed whispers was now pitched up raising to higher decibel range.

Before anyone could intervene, Ishan swung. His punch landed squarely on Shubman's jaw, sending him staggering backward.

"what the freaking Fu*k, saale teri toh" Shubman growled spitting the blood and throw a punch knocking Ishan down.

The field erupted in chaos as the players rushed in to separate the two. Shubman recovered quickly, wiping blood from his lip, and lunged at Ishan, grabbing him by the collar.

"You're out of control!" Shubman shouted as they grappled, both of them trying to land punches while being pulled apart by their teammates, buth their aggressions only fueled up more.

"And you're a coward!" Ishan yelled back, struggling to break free from the players holding him.

The accusations turned into filty curses, both of there fist aiming to draw blood and disfiguring the other body. The fight turned ugly as they rolled down the field throwing kicks and punches.

Finally, the Dean of St. Marie, Mr. Kapoor, who happened to come overe their only a moment ago, only to meet with the sight of his own College members fighting, with a face a mask of fury. "Enough!" he bellowed.

The players froze, and Shubman and Ishan reluctantly let go of each other, both breathing heavily.

"Do you two realize what you're doing?" Mr. Kapoor demanded, his voice cutting through the tension. "You're supposed to play against opponent, not fight among yourself like local hooligans and make fun of the college reputation, bringing shame"

Shubman looked away, still seething, while Ishan glared defiantly at the Dean. The rest of the team stood in silence, unsure of what to do.

The match was Dismissed and both of them were sent to medbay, not before asking them to report at Dean's office the very next day.
