Chapter 7

"What is it, Priti?" I asked.

"Someone's out there for you!" "I wouldn't be able to calm because someone just came looking for you. You should get up now and ready to leave."

Napakunot ang noo ko. "Wait. What?! What are you talking about? Who's looking for me?"

"Raj is outside," she said, hearing his name woke me up to the core. "That's why you should get up and dressed now. I don't think he can wait for you much longer."

"I'm going to see him."

"Wearing just that?" she said of my pajama. "You should be presentable enough to face him, Kash."

I shook my head. "No. I don't know what's going on so I have to see him."

When his eyes shifted on me, his brows crossed as if he was confused as to why he was seeing me in my sleeping clothes.

"What are you wearing, Kash?" he asked, stepping out of his car. "I told your cousin to get dressed because you'll be coming with me."

I shook my head. "No, she didn't say anything to me. What's the reason you came to see it? Do you need anything from me? Was it because of something with your father?"

"Calm down, Kash. I came here to see you about the job I was offering to you."

"Oh. . ." I muttered, nodding my head. "Is that what you came here for? Why didn't you text me?"

"I was calling you," he said. "Many times earlier."

"I was sleeping for god sake, Raj. You could've told me a few days ago and I could've prepared myself. What do you want me to do now?"

"Go and change into something formal. I will wait for you."

"Do you want to come inside?" I asked, inviting him inside our house—well, Priti's house.

He shook his head. "No, I can wait you out here. Do you think you can make it in twenty minutes?"

I nodded so determined. "Alright. I will be back soon. You didn't really have to do this, Raj."

"Well, I'm doing it now. I'll wait for you here."

Priti was really upset with me for not waking up when she tried earlier. Naligo rin naman ako nang mabilisan while I told her to pick some clothes for me to wear. I thought that was enough and Priti said it was enough for me.

When she told me I looked fine, I ran out of the house to meet Raj again. He let me settled inside before he went back to the other side and get himself ready.
