Every student had returned to the gym for the Fall Formal...well, everyone but (Y/N) and Sunset Shimmer, who were at the front entrance sitting on the stairs.

Sunset Shimmer: So what'd you want to talk about?

(Y/N): Sunset, your inner demon said that you had a pretty bad life in Equestria, is that true?

This makes Sunset flinch before she sighed.

Sunset Shimmer: *sighs sadly* Yes (Y/N), it's true. My life in Equestria wasn't a good one. And I'm guessing Twilight told you and your other friends about Equestria, and that I'm from Equestria?

(Y/N): Yes, she did. Do you want to talk about it?

Sunset Shimmer: You want to listen to me?

(Y/N): Yes Sunset. I'm more than willing to listen to your story. So please, tell me everything.

Sunset Shimmer: Very well then. In Equestria, I was a unicorn who was born into nobility which you think would be a good thing, but for me, it wasn't. My parents...were neglectful.

This surprised (Y/N).

(Y/N): What?!

Sunset Shimmer: They never cared about me, unless if I did something that was very impressive. As I grew up, I discovered I was naturally talented with magic, and it was so impressive that I become Princess Celestia's student way before Twilight. When my parents learned that I was Princess Celestia's student, they were very proud of me and I thought things would get better, but I soon found out that they used my status as Princess Celestia's student to make themselves look better amongst any of the other nobles.

(Y/N): So, they used you?

Sunset Shimmer: Unfortunately yes, and to make matters worse, the other nobles were jealous of me being Princess Celestia's student, so they never wanted anything to do with me. I rarely had any friends and like I said, my parents never really cared about me.

(Y/N): Oh Sunset...

Sunset Shimmer: Apparently, my parents and their stuck-up attitudes wore off on me and I stuck to became stuck-up myself that I felt like I didn't need any friends at all, but I felt like something was missing, and that was friends. Then one day, during my lessons with Princess Celestia, I looked into the Crystal Mirror that also acts like a portal to the Human World, and in it, I saw myself as an alicorn, which are so rare in Equestria that if anyone wants to become one, Princess Celestia, who's an alicorn herself, offers them to become a member of the royal family.

(Y/N): That sounds like an amazing offer!

Sunset Shimmer: Yeah, it was...at the time. After I saw myself as an alicorn in that mirror, I was excited because I thought would become an alicorn and be a part of the royal family, which would make my parents very proud of me and they would finally recognize me. So I told my parents about what I saw in the Crystal Mirror and they were excited too, but now that I look back at it, my parents probably wanted me to become an alicorn so that once I become a princess, they would be a part of the royal family and they could get whatever they wanted, but I didn't know about it at the time. So I confronted Princess Celestia and asked her to turn me into an alicorn. And...

(Y/N): And I take it that it didn't go very well?

Sunset Shimmer: No, it didn't. Princess Celestia refused to turn me into an alicorn, so I told my parents about it and they began pressuring me into becoming an alicorn. So then, I kept asking and asking Princess Celestia into becoming an alicorn, but she kept refusing. But then one day, I heard a voice telling me to look into the Crystal Mirror again.
