I figure the best way for me to get rid of Damon is to introduce him to my grandmother. She's always complaining about how I need to settle down and find somebody to spend my life with. I'm sure she'll have plenty to say about Damon.

I turn to him. "Wanna meet my grandmother? I'm sure she'll love you."

Damon rolls his eyes but smiles. "You barley know what there is to love about me, let alone whether or not your grandma will even remotely like me." But I know my grandmother. No matter what man it is, she'll always have a million questions. Especially if it's a man I invited to my 15-year-old cousin's quinceanera. I begin to look around for her, and I spot her near the cake talking to a woman that I've never seen before with a light pink dress. She looks up and smiles at me.

"Hey baby-" she pauses, looking Damon up and down. "Who is this?" she says in her Hispanic accent.

"Um, grandma, this is Damon, my friend."

"Friend huh?"

"Puedes distraerlo por favor?" I ask.

"Si, claro."

I step back as she starts asking Damon all types of questions. Grilling him about life choices, personal hygiene and whether he keeps up with the daily news.

Then I see him.

Dio.

We lock eyes and I'm the first to break eye contact. I don't wanna see him. He shouldn't be here. Who the fuck invited invited him? I don't have time to think about it because suddenly I feel someone tap me on the shoulder and I turn around and see Jayden, one of my fathers money launderers. Only reason he's here is because he's the highest paid one and he gets the job done. Therefore he's a special guest.

"Caisius needs to see you. Now." Jayden says and turns away. I assume he wants me to start following him, so I do just that. I wonder why he sounds so nervous. Out of the 5 years I've known him, Jayden never sounds nervous. Never. That's how I know somethings wrong. We walk for a while until we are on a secret floor under the basement that only certain people have access too.
