People: Lando
Ages: Lando (24)
AN: this chapter is a little different than you might be used to from me. I tried to make something that's a bit interactive for you guys. I'll write a short introduction about Lando and then there will be different people in Lando's life (mainly friends and family) and how they'd react to this situation. Except, I won't tell you which reaction is whose. I'll give clues and then you guys can guess (P.S. everything is written in Lando's point of view) Some people will be easy to guess, some will be more difficult. You can also just read it like a normal story, because I'll put the answers all the way at the end of the chapter. I hope you guys like it
- POV Lando -
I was pacing around my hotel room, trying to quieten my thoughts by keeping myself occupied. I felt restless and on-edge, the overthinking taking over my brain. I tried to take some deep breaths, like I had been taught, but it seemed I didn't have any control over my breathing. My chest was tight because of the lack of oxygen and my hammering heart. It was currently the middle of the night, but I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep for a long while, so I rushed out of my room and through the hotel, in search of their room. When I finally arrived, I knocked on the door, trying to keep quiet for the other hotel guests, but still audibly gasping for air. Then, the door opened a little and their face appeared.

"Hey mate, what's the matter?", they asked quickly, reaching out for me and guiding me into the room by my arm. I was crushed into a hug, and they kept telling me to breathe. "I can't breathe", I told them, panic ridden. "Crap. Just...just breathe. In and out". It was clear they weren't entirely sure what to do, but I didn't blame them. They kept me in their warm embrace though. They always did this, hugging was their love language and somehow, it made me a little calmer. My head was laying in the crook of their neck, because of our significant height difference. They were topless, but I didn't care even a second.
"Are you feeling a bit better now?". I nodded, pulling away from the hug. "I'm sorry I didn't really know what to do", they mumbled, looking at me sheepishly. "Well, I'm calmer now, aren't I", I smiled, squeezing their shoulder. "Fact", they smiled as they led me further into their hotel room. "Wanna sleep here?". I quickly noticed there were two beds and nodded thankfully. I really didn't want to be alone right now. "Thanks", I smiled, laying down on the smaller bed and pulling the blanket over myself. "Of course, anytime", they told me sincerely.

"Lando? What are you doing here this early?", they croaked sleepily, before they realized the state I was in. "Oh, come in mate". I stepped inside at the invitation and leaned against the wall, trying to breathe. "Lando, you're having a panic attack", they said in a somehow still quite monotonous, but serious voice. "Sit down, come on", they said, placing a hand on my back and leading me to an armchair and covering me with an orange jacket. They took a seat on the chair next to mine and made eye contact. "Look, you need to distract yourself. Try to think about something else". "But what am I supposed to think about?", I panicked. "Just close your eyes and imagine yourself driving around your favorite tracks", they encouraged me. I would've never thought about this myself, but it was admittedly a smart idea.
As I drove Suzuka, Silverstone, Spa and Brazil in my mind, they sometimes interrupted me to remind me to take a deep breath. After I'd driven those 4 tracks, I was a lot calmer. I opened my eyes back up and stared at them. "Where did you even learn this?", I asked them. This was genius. "My mom taught me", they smiled. Even though I'd never seen their mom in real life, I knew her from her tweets and the numerous interviews she'd given. "She seems really nice". "She is, she really is". There was a hint of fondness in their eyes. "Anyway, why don't you crash on my couch for tonight?". I smiled and agreed with the idea, pulling the jacket tighter and zipping it all the way up. Whoever allowed them to have air-conditioning in their room should get punished. "I'm sorry, I'm always warm", was the softhearted apology. "No problem", I mumbled, but I didn't really hear anything after that, quickly falling asleep, somehow dreaming about Suzuka, Silverstone, Spa and Brazil being one huge circuit somewhere in Australia.
