There was a strange sense of peace to returning to the Hidden Leaf. While many of Orochimaru's bases were in scenic locations such as the side of mountains and entire islands, except for the entrances, the bases themselves were completely underground. Being able to see the sky above you and having so much open space felt nice compared to the advanced laps you were used to. You were still honest with your emotions and didn't bother hiding how you felt so you couldn't help smiling at the sense of freedom the village gave as you passed its gates.
Kakashi: Well, I'm off to give my report to the Hokage. The four of you are free for the next two days so be sure to rest while you can.
He smiled under his mask and vanished in a puff of smoke.
Naruto: All right then, (Y/n) let's go get some ramen.
(Y/n): Sounds good.
You nodded as the blonde ran ahead a bit and waved you over to join him.
Sasuke: Hold it (Y/n)... I have some questions for you.
As you started walking to Naruto, Sasuke called out for you to stay where you were. He was giving off an intense aura as if he were trying to provoke you into a fight.
(Y/n): Sorry, but I already promised to eat out with Naruto. You're welcome to join us if you want.
You invited him while completely ignoring his hostility. It's not that you didn't want to fight him. His Sharingan alone made him an interesting opponent, but you didn't want to get into trouble if the fight got out of hand.
Sasuke: I don't want ramen! I want answers! You said you had seen an Uchiha use the Sharingan before... you're going to tell me everything you know.
He struck his arm to the side as his temper was starting to get the better of him.
(Y/n): Hrm? Everything I know can be found in books and scrolls. If you're too lazy to read that's your problem, not mine.
Sasuke: Don't be a smartass! Tell me where you saw the Sharingan before!
(Y/n): Some of the books had pictures.
You shrugged and turned away from him before folding your hands behind your head.
Sakura: Just forget him Sasuke. Let's you and me go hangout a bit.
For the first time since you met her, you were actually glad for Sakura clinging on to his side.
Sasuke: (Y/n)!!
He pushed her back and shouted at you, but your (E/c) eyes were calm as you rolled them and looked back at him.
(Y/n): Sasuke I don't know anything more than most people... The Uchiha Massacre is common knowledge even where I come from. I was surprised when I realized you were the only survivor from that tragedy.
You shook your head and sighed at having to explain his own history to him.
(Y/n): You were the only survivor from your clan, weren't you?
You couldn't help taunting him with a mischievous grin, it was a bad habit you had picked up from watching your dad turn away fights from uninteresting or simply weaker opponents.
Sasuke was biting down on his teeth to hold himself from yelling at you again, but it was clear as day how annoyed he was.
Sasuke: (Y/n), you do know something don't you? Why won't you just answer me directly?
(Y/n): Because I don't want to. Isn't that obvious by now?
You rolled your eyes again and turned away from him to join with Naruto.
