xii. The horrible kiss

TEENAGERS WERE UNDENIABLY HORMONAL, and Eulalia had never truly considered just how much until this very moment. But, it wasn't an everyday occurrence for her to be snogging Draco Malfoy on her bed. The way things were going, they might need to put both of their rooms on lockdown when they visited; clearly, they couldn't keep their hands off each other.

The instant Eulalia had shown any hint of interest in Draco, it was as though something within him had snapped. And now, without so much as a pause for breath, they were fervently kissing, completely lost in one another.

Draco's hands roamed eagerly over her back, pulling her closer as if trying to fuse their bodies together. Eulalia's fingers tangled in his hair, holding him tightly, the intensity of their kiss amplifying with every second. They seemed oblivious to everything else—the world beyond the door, the gentle crackle of the fire in the hearth, the soft, golden glow casting shadows across the room.

The minutes had melted away, unnoticed by Eulalia as she and Draco remained wrapped up in each other. The world outside their sanctuary seemed to have ceased to exist, swallowed by their passionate embrace. It wasn't until a loud, impatient knocking jolted Eulalia from her reverie that she became aware of the time. She reluctantly pulled away from Draco, her lips still tingling from their kisses, and glanced towards the door.

"Yes?" she called out, her voice tinged with annoyance but still breathless from their earlier intensity.

"Would you stop snogging your boyfriend and bring him downstairs?" Mirelia's voice came through the door, louder than necessary, with a hint of teasing irritation. "They're leaving!"

Without waiting for a response, Mirelia took it upon herself to barge in, her eyes widening at the sight of the two teens—clearly engrossed in each other. "Ah, I was right. Hurry before Mother takes your door off its hinges," she added, her grin widening as she took in the scene.

Eulalia, still caught between embarrassment and irritation, grabbed one of her pillows and hurled it at her sister with surprising accuracy. "Go away!" she shouted, though her voice was more playful than truly angry.

Mirelia dodged the pillow with a well-timed sidestep, her laughter ringing out as she swiftly shut the door. "I'm just the messenger!" she called through the door, her voice muffled but still clear. "Don't keep us waiting too long!"
