Bonnie left his son's room and into the hallway again after dropping off the kids' clean laundry in their rooms.

He had finished all of his chores for the day, and the children were playing on their own, leaving him with plenty of free time.

Like perfect timing, he heard Freddy was upstairs as well and followed the noise.

He caught sight of him in the bathroom within their bedroom. He looked on from a distance and frowned at what he saw.

Freddy had a disappointed look as he observed his face and body in the mirror. He had just gotten in the accident that took out his eye, so he was still getting used to his new life.

Bonnie had to cheer him up right away. While he was looking down at his body, Bonnie used the opportunity to sneak up behind the man, surprising him by wrapping his arms around his waist from behind and closing his eyes lazily, resting his chin over his right shoulder. Freddy was startled at first but chuckled as he realized.

"Hello, honey-bun..." he smiled shyly, holding Bonnie's paws that were around him.

Bonnie's smile brightened. "Hey handsome~! Are you checkin' yourself out??" He teased. Freddy shook his head, laughing nervously.

"There's nothing to 'check out', anyway..."

Bonnie hummed, looking at Freddy in the mirror as well. "I disagree."

Freddy huffed. "That's easy for you to say... you're still the most beautiful man I've ever seen." He mumbled, turning his head to kiss Bonnie's cheek.

The bunny sighed. "I don't see what you're talking about, babe. You're perfect..." He nuzzled Freddy's neck affectionately.

Freddy began trembling, and his gaze lowered to the ground.

"T-then why are the my k-kids scared of me...?" He whimpered.

After the injury was closed, Freddy stopped wearing wraps around his face since it was uncomfortable. Gregory was only six, and Daisy was still only a year old. Of course both of them would have negative reactions to Freddy's new look.

Gregory and Freddy would always spend time together before. The boy was more polite about it, but he always seemed startled by Freddy's presence now. He was hesitant to speak to him, and the boy looked for any excuse to leave the conversation whenever Freddy tried talking to him normally.

Daisy did not know any better yet. She used to love it when Freddy held her and played with her. Now, whenever he tried taking her or if he spoke to her, she would cry and push him away, crawling back to Bonnie for protection.

It broke Bonnie's heart seeing it. Seeing the hurt and confusion on Freddy's face everytime.

The bear loved his family. He loved spending time with his kids, but now, they treated him like a monster. All because of an accident he got into trying to protect them.

It wasn't fair.

Bonnie sighed. "They're not scared of you, Freddy... they're just put off by the scar. It was a big change for them... they'll get used to it." He reassured.

Freddy did not respond to him, so Bonnie turned him around to face each other.

The bear kept his head low, trying to hide his face from the bunny. Bonnie craddled Freddy's cheeks in his paws and lifted it up again, giving him an honest and unwavering look.
