The soft ocean breeze brushed against their skin, adding to the serene yet joyous vibe that had settled over them. Laughter filled the air as they sipped on fruity cocktails, their matching pajamas only adding to the lightheartedness of the night.
Solea, Halle, and Novah sat around the table, the sound of crashing waves providing the perfect background to their catch-up session. Sante' and Rashad had gone out for a while to give the ladies some space, and every few minutes, Halle stole glances at her phone, her excitement bubbling over for her plans with Julio later.
"I can't believe you and Julio are still going strong" Solea teased, nudging Halle with her elbow. "Last time we talked, you were all unsure about the distance, and now you're like, 'I can't wait to be wrapped up in my man" she mimicked in a dramatic tone, causing both Halle and Novah to burst out laughing.
Halle grinned, her cheeks glowing under the soft patio lights. "Girl, I know! But there's something about him. We talk every day, and even though we're apart, he's so present. I didn't think I could feel this close to someone who lives in another time zone."
Her voice softened as she looked down at her drink, swirling it thoughtfully. "It's more than just the physical. It's like he sees me... listens to me in ways that no one else has. And when we're together, it's like the whole world just fades away."
Novah took a slow sip of her drink, her eyebrow raised as she gave Halle a knowing smile.
"That's how you know it's real. When the connection stays solid even with the miles between you. Julio's a good dude, too. Every time we're all together, I can see how locked in he is with you."
Solea nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with warmth as she thought of her own bond with Sante'.
"Yeah, it's rare to find someone who can make you feel like the only person in the room, especially when they aren't always there. He makes you feel seen and cherished. That's special."
