As soon as I heard the sharp sound of Dark's voice at my door, every single cell in my body slid to a grinding halt. I slowly turned my gaze in the direction it came from, a chill moving down my spine. This wasn't good. Tenebris coming to my door right after that horrible video showed we were sworn enemies? That can't be a coincidence. And there's no way she was really here for a chat.

I took a glance around the room to see if there were any other exits, and found none. Expected from a dorm of this size, but still disappointing in the current scenario. Although, I guess Monocavy wouldn't allow potential victims to escape their fates so easily. At any rate, I might be able to trick her into thinking I'm not here by being silent until she leaves the area.

Dark: I know you're in there, Eden. I heard you walking around.

Well, shit.

If stalling was off table, I'd have to engage with her. But I couldn't let her know I was on guard yet.

I loudly sighed.

Eden: Alright, alright. You caught me at a bad time, I'm doing some writing. But I guess I can spare a few minutes to chat.

I pushed the broken lamp and motive video under my bed, then slowly walked over to the door. I couldn't just recklessly open it, though, because if she's waiting on the other end with a knife ready, I'd immediately get plowed in the gut. So I turned around and leaned on the wall next to the door, and unlocked it without opening it.

That way, if she decided to lunge at me, she'd hit nothing but air with her blade. And since she's so tiny, I'd be able to disarm her pretty easily.

Eden: You can come in now.

The door slowly creaked open and Dark walked into my dorm, revealing her brown coat and small frame. She didn't have a weapon in her hands, which meant she wasn't going to immediately attack me. That's good. However, some kind of object was in her left pocket. It was small and rectangularly shaped, with soft edges. Maybe a pocket knife? I'd seen some of those in the weapons room.

Dark: Eden? Where are you?

Eden: I'm over here.

Startled, she turned around and faced me. She started to walk in my direction, but I held out my hand and she stopped.

Eden: Don't come any closer.

I pointed across the room at my desk.

Eden: Sit down over there. Then we can talk.

Dark: ...

Dark: Okay...?

She shuffled back over to the chair and sat down.

Eden: Sorry about the paranoia, I know it's a tad rude. We are in a killing game though, so I have to be extra careful.

Dark frowned.

Dark: You think I'm here to kill you?

I paused to think of a way to answer that question without revealing the contents of my tablet.

Eden: Well, you watched that motive video, didn't you? I watched it too, so I know how much it can tempt people. I can restrain myself, but I've only known you for two days. How can I be sure that you'll do the same?
