5. Rainy Day

Logan's POV

Unfortunately, it's almost the end of summer break. Getting to see my family back in Florida was so much fun. Being away from racing and being able to rest was great, but at the same time I'm glad to be back. 

I just got home from my first team meeting at the factory since after the Belgian Grand Prix. James talked for half of the meeting about returning with a refreshed mindset and other nonsense. He had always been particularly critical of me, even though it's only my rookie season. I guess he just has high hopes for me.

I have one more free afternoon today before I fly to the Netherlands tomorrow. I have no idea what I should do, but I should try to have some fun before break is officially over.

I started to think about what I did through summer break, and my mind went to the start. The first day of break, I woke up in Oscar's hotel room, in his arms, with tired eyes that had been crying the night before.

I realized I hadn't spoken to him since. It would be a lie to say I hadn't thought of him, he probably crossed my mind at least once a day. I've just been too scared to do anything about it.

 I swallowed my fear and decided to ask him to lunch. Hopefully our last interaction didn't scare him too badly. 

It felt as if I was drafting the most important message of my life. My heart rate skyrocketed as my thumb moved to hit send.

Hey Oscar I was wondering if you'd like to go out for lunch or something today?

I have nothing to do until tomorrow and I'm bored as hell

I sat on the couch and anxiously scrolled through my phone as I waited for a response.

Oscar's POV

As much as I enjoyed summer break, I was not loving it right now. I had absolutely nothing to do, and it didn't seem as if that was going to change. I was lazing around after having eaten breakfast when I got a message. I quickly grabbed my phone in hopes that it would be something entertaining. 

When I saw it was a message from Logan, my heart started beating faster. We hadn't spoken since he ran out of my hotel room. He was in such a rush that he forgot about his clothes. I had washed them for him, but seeing as he'd asked to go to lunch, I figured I should return them another time.

Speaking of which, I should respond to him.

I got up from the couch and scrambled to get ready. It was 12:30 now, so I only had half an hour with around a 20 minute drive. I showered and got dressed, then checked my watch. I was right on time, so I started driving.
