Chapter 8.5: Kenji Sato's Past: Burning Fury

Kenji Sato... a very humble but strong individual. Before that, he was different, so let's look at his past, shall we?

Kenji Sato was born in this world with a lovely family... same cannot be said for his friends as he has no friends in elementary school in the first place. He sits at the very back of the classroom, not by force but by choice. As Kenji puts his head down, he was suddenly approached by a boy. Kenji lifts his head up and sees a familiar face... this is Taiki Watanabe, his bully in grade 6. Taiki speaks up.

"Hey there, sleepyhead! Where's my money, huh?!"

"What money?"

"Don't play dumb with me, Kenji! I told you every friday, you owe me 20 bucks!"

"For what? Are you forcing ru-"

Kenji has no time to finish that sentence as he gets grabbed in the collar. Taiki speaks at him coldly.

"You're lucky i am being kind! You don't consider only 20 in friday kind, huh?! Unless you want me to reveal to the whole class that you cheated this quarter's periodical exam."

"What?! I didn't cheat! Where's your pro-

Taiki pulls out his phone and shows a picture of Kenji looking down secretly at his phone and has a smug look in his face.

"There's your proof~"

"How the hell are you that fast?? I was only declining a call and messaging them to call later!"

"And who's calling? Your girlfriend? HAHAHAHA! Yeah right~ your only a loser, after all~"

"That was only a friend!"

"Back to the point, Kenji. My money or your demise."

"...tch... here you go..."

Kenji reaches over to his pocket and hands him 20 dollars. Taiki happily snatches it away from his hand and walks away, clearly satisfied on getting what he wants. Kenji sighs as he takes a seat once again. Ever since the 3rd periodical exam was over, he was getting black-mailed by Taiki over and over again. He can't exactly tell the teachers because he has no proof to prove that he's innocent so he really is just forced to comply to him. He sighs once more as the class starts. Just another day of dreaming he would get kicked out before they graduate from elementary school...

One day as Kenji walks down the hallway in lunch time, he sees in the nearby window that someone is getting bullied by Taiko outside. The girl looks visibly angry as she tries to grab her book from Taiko's grasp. He pushes her to the ground and speaks coldly.

"You're not getting this precious book back unless you pay~"

Suddenly, the book gets snatched by Kenji and handed over to the girl. Kenji looks at Taiko with a serious face as he defends the girl with his arm.

"Taiko... what you're doing is bad, you know?"

Taiko scoffs at the idea of him being in the bad. He speaks to him half-heartedly.

"Not my fault that she wasn't paying~ it's just my rules~ i can do whatever i want, so don't stop me or you'll get hurt."

"You know i could just report this to the pri-"

"Like if i give a damn fuck! I'm out of patience! DON'T STAND IN MY WAY EVER AGAIN!!"

Taiko throws a punch infused with dark energy but Kenji catches it with his hands infused with light energy. However, he struggles to hold his fists. Taiko speaks in a mocking tone.

"Light energy, eh~? Impressive but it's still powerless against me!"

Kenji falls to his knees while still holding his fists. He looks at the girl and shouts at her.

"You! Get out of here before you get hurt further!"

"Y-Ye-Yes...!"

As the girl runs away, Kenji makes Taiko's hand slide beside him and onto the ground. He lands an uppercut to his chin and sends him flying out of his school. While in the air, they both engage in hand-to-hand combat, exchanging blows one after the other and accidently destroying nearby buildings. Kenji gets overpowered by Taiko though as he is pummeled to the ground. Once the smoke clears, Taiko is actually a demon possessing Diabolical Energy. Just before his skull is about to get smashed, a hero in a black fedora appears and stops Taiko's fists. Taiko grunts as he tries to push it but gets sent flying across the street. This mysterious hero looks at Kenji with emerald green eyes as he winks and flies towards the demon. Since then, he vowed to get stronger and better so that he doesn't lose to another fight anymore. Atleast the girl was safe and he was pretty sure that the mysterious hero defeated Taiko... but he couldn't see anything as both of them were in a blinding white pilar of light. He trained his light energy but still couldn't find a way to tap into spiritual energy.

Kenji Sato is was only 16 when a group of terrorists attacked the city him and his family live on. Kenji stands outside, clearly feeling uneasy at the state of the city. He turns around to see his family but is stopped by 5 terrorists with dark energy. He's able to hold off on his own however, as he has learned light energy but still clearly struggling. He sweeps their legs and kick them all one by one thanks to his speed. As they all fall to the ground, he looks at the house worriedly and tries to head inside but is stabbed by a spear from behind. He falls to his knees as both of his hands are cut off. He screams in pain at the missing arms. However, his family is brought outside dead with their heads decapitated. Kenji sees this horrifying sight. He isn't frightened or sad, instead he feels anger, a burning fury within him... and with that he stands up and explodes in rage. The wind gets violent around him as the skies turn dark. He regenerates the hole in his stomach and his two missing arms. He roars in rage, enough to be heared from a mile away. The smoke clears and Kenji is covered in a red aura that is almost like fire. He has done it, he has tapped into spiritual energy. A spear gets thrown at him but he catches it and breaks it with his hand. Using his newfound powers, which is psychic abilities, he crushes the terrorist into a cube. 3 more terrorist try to attack him from close range but Kenji covers himself in a spherical shield and sends the 3 terrorists flying to space. He looks at the city, seeing as it needs more help, decides to try flying over there using his psychic powers but is stopped as he slowly loses conciousness. A few hours pass as Kenji wakes up. His head hurts but the first thing he does is look at city. He finds it still intact meaning someone must've saved it before him. He lays down on the ground but tears fall in his face because his family is gone. He knows full well that if someone dies, you can bring back their body but not their soul.
