On the 10th of Smezaru in the year 4000, Queen Ezarenia of the Obsidian Kingdom watched the night sky from her window. It had been a week since she had bid farewell to her youngest son, Selenico. Despite the firm confidence she had in his future and destiny, a mother's heart could not help but worry. The cold air sweeping across the obsidian mountains seemed to carry the distant sound of war drums, a forewarning of future battles.

King Bedrico, her husband, sat by the fire in the castle’s great hall, reflecting on the decisions they had made as rulers. Sending Selenico to the Madasossa Institute had been a difficult but necessary choice. With the looming threat of war between the Platinum and Uranium Kingdoms, the alliance between Obsidian, Amethyst, and Quartz was becoming increasingly fragile. Yet, Bedrico knew that their son was destined for a great future. “He is still so young,” Ezarenia said as she approached him. “And yet, he carries the weight of an entire kingdom.”

Bedrico nodded. “Selenico is special. He has a strength he does not yet fully understand. At Madasossa, he will discover who he truly is.”

The queen sat down beside him, her gaze distant. “And yet, I cannot help but think that by sending him away, we are depriving him of the warmth of family. The war... the war forces us to make decisions that no parent should have to make.”

Bedrico took her hand. “Ezarenia, we are protecting him. We are giving him the chance to grow far from the devastation that may reach even our kingdom.”

Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Amethyst and Quartz, the situation was not much different. Queen Trinsia and King Veliquo had retreated to their royal chambers, surrounded by reports from their advisors and generals. The news of an imminent attack by the Kingdom of Platinum and the Kingdom of Titanium had forced the two rulers to prepare for the inevitable conflict. However, their thoughts always turned to their young daughter, Dorenia, their only child, who was now far away at the Madasossa Institute.

“Trinsia, we made the right choice,” said Veliquo, his voice firm but with a touch of tenderness. “Far from our kingdom, Dorenia is safe. She represents our hope for the future.”

Trinsia, who had always been a strong and resolute queen, let out a sigh. “Every time I looked at her, I saw in her the delicacy of a flower and the strength of a gem. But I fear this conflict will steal her innocence. Madasossa is a dangerous place. I’ve heard stories…”

Veliquo took his wife’s hand, gripping it tightly. “Yes, I’ve heard those stories too. But I know our daughter. Even though she is still young, an unimaginable strength burns within her. At Madasossa, like Selenico, she will discover her true potential. The future of our kingdom will depend on her and the choices she makes.”

Trinsia nodded, but a silent tear slid down her face. “Every night, it seems I hear the sound of her laughter echoing through the halls. She was so lively, always curious about everything.”

“She is lively because she takes after you,” Veliquo said with a melancholy smile. “And she will be strong because she takes after both of us.”

In the Amethyst castle, the days had grown darker. The clouds of war were slowly enveloping everything, and the court was in constant turmoil. Ministers endlessly debated defense strategies, while generals devised battle plans. But in the hearts of the rulers, there was only the desire to see their daughter grow in a world of peace, not conflict.

Just like Ezarenia and Bedrico, Trinsia and Veliquo were trying to balance their duties as rulers with their concerns as parents. The separation from their children was an unbearable weight, but necessary to protect their lineage and preserve the legacy of their kingdoms.

**The Letters from Afar**

In the heart of the night, Ezarenia wrote a letter to Selenico, sealing it with the symbol of the Obsidian Kingdom. “My dear son,” it began, “your journey is only just beginning, but know that we are with you in spirit, always. Your destiny calls, and I know you will rise to the expectations.”

At the same time, Trinsia was writing to Dorenia. “My sweet Dorenia,” her words traced with a trembling hand, “I hope you are finding the strength I know lies in your heart. Remember that even in loneliness, our love surrounds you like a warm blanket on the coldest nights.”

As the letters traveled through mountains and plains, crossing rivers and forests, the kingdoms of Obsidian and Amethyst remained shrouded in uncertainty. Yet, in that simple gesture, the royal families sought to maintain a connection with their children, knowing that one day, when time and spirit aligned, Selenico and Dorenia would find their path and lead their people to a new era of peace.

But before that day came, a long and difficult road awaited them, filled with sacrifices, discoveries, and impossible challenges. The royal families, however, knew that their children had within them the power to change the fate of their kingdoms and bring light where now only darkness reigned.
