Tusk found himself weaving and dodging amongst a flurry of attacks as he darted across the desert. He was carrying a bundle of scrolls to his friends, having worked up the courage to join them. "STUPID STUPID STUPID! WHAT AM I EVEN DOING!? AIYEE!"
Blood-Wraith peaked his head above a small, obsidian dome. "TEACHER! Over here, hurry!"
He bottom-lined it and made it before a series of shockwaves struck the Lich. Under the dome were also Desislav and Dragoslava. "Hey, guys... What did I miss?"
"Er, not much..." Dragoslava replied, trying to catch her breath. "Vlastimir showed up out of nowhere to give us a breather."
"Good thing too" Desislav moaned. "That power I absorbed is making me feel like dirt..."
Looking towards the battle, Tusk saw Vlastimir unleashing a barrage of wild sword slashes. "Good lord, his power terrifies me. He's got some kind of ungodly creature inside of him... As for us, I got a spell set that'll help!"
The conversation was briefly interrupted by an explosion. "Cool, how does this help us, teacher?" Blood-Wraith inquired.
"It's a little complicated, but I should be able to channel the Source and weaken the Lich considerably."
"Sounds good, show us how it works..." Dragoslava said as she unfurled the scrolls.
Back at the battle, Vlastimir was laughing maniacally after having blown a hole in the Lich. "Regeneration!? That won't do... WICKED DRAGON: SCREAM MACABRE!" His arms formed a grotesque, draconic head that let out a wretched screech. This paralyzed the Lich.
Leif took the opportunity to launch three fireballs that caused loud, fiery explosions on contact. "Well done, Kid!"
Vlastimir laughed. "I got that one from one of my favorite shows!"
"Really? A tad juvenile, but I'll take it!" Leif then took off and followed up with a divebomb.
The Lich was nothing but a nasty mess of bone and muscle at this point. He roared and growled at anything that moved. This deterioration excited a cathartic pleasure in Vlastimir. He could go all out for once. He was about to have a lot of fun...
"HAHAHA! You're really rousing my bloodlust..." He remarked as he dodged the Lich's frenzied strikes. "Wicked Dragon: Stinging Thorns!" A series of vines shot up from the ground and ensnared the Lich. He was then flung up into the air where Leif sent him flying with his tail.
"Vlastimir, Tusk has a spell!" Blood-Wraith called out as the group met up with him.
"A spell? A spell!? Ooh, what kind of spell?"
Tusk took a deep breath and spoke. He was incredibly nervous. "I think we can weaken the Lich. Where's Deimos?"
"He's with the Unspeaker, preparing something, '' Dragoslava answered.
"Shoot! Okay, we can still make this work. Desislav, I need an obsidian dagger."
He groaned a little, but did what he was asked. "Argh, here. Now what?"
"Excellent..." Tusk spoke an incantation, making it glow. "Vlastimir, I need the blood of a dragon. Leif won't do, given his current circumstances."
"One drop of blood, coming up!" He squeezed his fist, causing a black substance to drip onto the blade. This made it scream and wail.
"Don't worry, everyone. That was supposed to happen. Now one last thing: Blood, I need you to bless this dagger. You're the closest thing we got to a divine being right now."
Blood-Wraith was a little confused. "Wait, what? How do I do that?"
"Put your hand over it and say you approve of the ritual. It's that simple" Tusk instructed.
