"William. Are you even listening to me?"

"Quit nagging will you? I just got home!"

William was being nagged. Again.
There are some things that are pretty far from changing huh.

Same place, same time, same words.

They were the only ones awake by now.

"You should have come home hours ago. I will stop «nagging» once YOU stop coming home late."

"..."

He didn't answer his husband after that. The truth is, he wasn't listening to Vincent since the beginning, lost in thought. Should he tell him? This was his husband they were talking about. He could help him easily. But- he didn't want to envolve Vincent into this matter. He already had a lot of stuff to take care of and that would just make be overwhelming for him. What should he do? Should he just continue to be treated that way at his work-

"William? What's wrong? Are you okay?"

He gasped suddenly brought back to reality by Vincent's hand waving in front of his face.

"Ah- um... I-I'm fine... it's nothing."

Vincent stood still for a moment.

"Vince?... Are you oka- Hmmph!"

Vincent suddenly pressed their lips together, shutting him up in a second.

"Ah- Vince-mmh-"

His husband was kissing him aggressively. He pushed William to lay down on the bed and continued his sudden "making out session".

After a while he stopped, but he moved to the intersection of William's neck and sank his teeth in the exposed skin, making William whimper softly.

William didn't say anything anymore (except moans) but put his hands around Vincent's neck.

They went on like this for a few minutes, before the two ran out of breath and pulled away from eachother, leaving a thin saliva bridge at the tip of their tongues.

William panted before speaking. "W-why did you... do that.."

"Don't try to fool me William. Your «colleagues» did something to you at work didn't they?"

That made William speechless. His husband really knew everything.

"Wha- but- H-how did you-" he started speaking but Vincent cut him.
"You think i didn't notice? When we took a bath together a few days ago, there were more bruises than usual on your back, your arms and your neck.

William hugged himself out of instinct. Did his husband have eagle-like eyes?
He thought he made sure to cover up these bruises to make sure they weren't visible. So why...

Oh well.

It's to late to go back now.

William lowered his head and they stayed silent for a few minutes before he tried to speak again.

"I didn't wanna worry you."

Vincent couldn't see his face but it was clear from his face that he was holding back sobs.

"I knew I could have just killed them, but..." he paused to breath for a few seconds. He was starting to get stressed and he didn't know why.

"They said they would hurt you and the children before I have the time to react if I ever said a word... And I never told them I had children... so I-ugh..."

He couldn't stop the tears from running down his cheeks.

He brushed it away with his hand before saying:

"I'm sorry."

He felt a strong but soft pair of hand hug him from the front. He didn't expect it at all, but he didn't complain and instead put his arms around Vincent's back while crying.

"I'm so sorry... I'm sorry Vincent..."

"Shhhh... it's okay now. Stop crying... I'm here... I can help you with it." He said while wiping William's tears with his thump.

No more words spoken. Just
Them hugging eachother on the bed with Vincent giving his husband the desperate confort he needed.

Finnally Vincent spoke. "I can help you in this mess. Really.

"A-are you sure? You already have a lot of stuff to take care of nowadays..."

"William. I'm your husband. And my dove's well-being is much more important than anything else. Just let me help you with this. Okay?"

"......Fine."

——a few days later——

William was sitting on the sofa in the leaving room, sipping his coffee while he took the TV controller to change the current channel to the news's.

However something unexpected made him stop drinking.

"Several murder cases have been happening these past few days. The victims have all being dying the same way, their neck and bones twisted. The police is currently investigating this matter. As for the name of the victims..."

William's eyes widened.

Those were the names of the people who have been harassing him at work.
