Chapter 8: Stranger Danger!

Eesha's POV

"No, not the pool again!" I refused and they moved onto other options of what could be done for the afternoon. My plan of binge watching movies with my girls was long in the drain. "There is a fair happening a couple of kilometres away. I saw it on my way here" Meher said excitedly. "I dont think thats a good idea Meher, Eesha can't walk properly and my neck is sprained too" Inaya stated. "Oh thats right, oh well! Wait, Nial, can you not fix Inaya's neck?" Meher asked Nial who hesitantly agreed. Inaya was unsure but then Meher reassured her that he knows what he is doing and his friends too vouched for him. I was bit skeptical watching Nial adjust Inaya's neck when all of a sudden he snapped her neck and she yelped. Oh my god! I jumped up from my chair only to be pulled down by Rayan. Inaya opened her eyes, she is alive! She cautiously moved her neck and then vigorously moved her neck looking like a possessed person. "Oh my god! Thank you so much Nial!!" Inaya was basically dancing with happiness of relief. She must have been in a lot of pain and still kept it to herself. In hopes I asked, "So.... Do you fix legs too?"

"Eesha, I'm still telling you it is bad idea, your wound might get worse" Meher said for the hundredth time as we got off our cars and entered the crowded fair. We drove in two cars: Nathan in ours while Meher was with Nial on the other. "Dont worry Meher, my leg is much better and I'll let you know if anything goes wrong alright?" I reassured and she along with other hesitantly agreed. I didn't want to pull back everyone because I was injured. I'll choose a good food stall and stick around there, resting my legs. We got on bumper cars. Everyone had their own cars except Inaya as I was her passenger princess. Dang it! I loved playing this but my leg just had to be injured. I could have used my right leg on the left handed pedal but then I didn't want to risk it. Inaya is an excellent driver so it wasn't surprising when everyone started targeting us but then we only got hit once by Kian whom I might have provoked a bit with my 'lets see if you also need a driving lesson' remark. Inaya was pissed but she enjoyed the competition. Nathan was solely focused on Anya and it was the same case for Nial and Meher while Rayan chased us all. 

We got off the bumper cars and stopped at a hot corn shop. It was a bit cloudy by now and the weather app indicates there's going to be zero chance of rain so being sure that it is definitely going to rain today, we decided to hurry up. I was sitting on the bench with few kids and we were all talking and talking pictures when Rayan received a call. "Sorry guys, I need to take care of something. I'll be in the car and will join you back as soon as possible. We all groaned but let him go nonetheless. "Lets go gokarting then" Nathan suggested and everyone agreed. "Oh no! But Eeshu won't be able to do it" Anya called out. "No! You are still going! I will wait for you here or even try some injured person friendly rides here" I said as enthusiastically as possible. And then we went over the mandatory back and forth before they agreed. "Okay fine, but I am staying back with you" Inaya stated. "Inu, no, please for my sake yeah? Just go have fun and enjoy your neck. Please? I will hate myself if you would miss out on good sleep and fun because of me. Please go! You shouldn't be sitting around at a fair because of me" I genuinely pleaded which effectively worked like a 'Kasam' and she agreed. Phew! 

"I'll stay with her" Kian spoke out of nowhere. Now where did he come from? "What makes you special?" I jabbed with a frown, confused on why he, out of all, would offer to stay back with me. He swallowed his anger quite visibly before ignoring me and addressing the others "I'll stay with her. I also know a few rides that she can go on. Dont worry. Just give one us a call and we'll meet". The audacity! I am going to "accidentally" lose him in this fair if he actually stays back with me. They all were convinced, very persuasive he is! "Please dont kill her" I can't quite comprehend if Inaya was joking or if she genuinely feared that. He rolled his eyes at her urging them to go on their adventurous, healthy legged shenanigans. I was honestly very cautious of what he was trying to do. He turned around with a poker face. "Whatever you are trying to do, just drop it already. I refuse to be killed at a fair" I told him seriously and he raised an eyebrow. "Okay, off you go. I'll be at this corn stall but I might change places but you would never know in case you are still on your plan" I waved him bye as I took a freshly empty seat. 

"You are doing none of that. Come with me" He said as he extended his hand for me to take. I questioned him with my eyes when he sighed and yanked me up by my hand. "Come with me" He pressed again. "Stranger danger! Stranger danger!" I shouted and people turned around and halted. "She is just joking" Kian gulped and I chuckled "Yeah I was just joking" I said once I realised it would get serious. We both walked past that crowd and once we were out of their shot, Kian whisper yelled "Are you out of your mind woman?! You could have gotten me beaten up!". I opened my mouth to repeat but Kian bet me to it. "Dont! Dont even think about it" I closed my mouth slowly not wanting to push it more. "Ouch! Can you please slow down" I asked trying to keep up with him with my slightly aching leg. He looked at me in realisation before grabbing my wrist . "What is that for?" I asked. "To drag you around of course" he retorted and I scoffed. "I didn't see you hesitating this much before taking Rayan's hand" He said out of the blue, his eyes till looking ahead. I was taken aback by his comment not knowng what to make of it. "He was gentleman from day one" I stated. "Where are we going?" I asked changing the subject only to be answered with a 'you will see'.
