Charlie didn't say a word when she got to the motel, which scared Lily more than she would ever admit. She closed the door behind her as she followed her sister back to the car, her head thumping painfully with every step. She had a bruise on her forehead from where it had met Damon's knee, but it wasn't half as bad as it could have been and she knew other than a headache, she should be fine. But that didn't mean she was going to forgive the bastard any time soon. She also knew that Damon was the least of her problems—Charlie knew that she had been keeping Kol's presence in Denver from her. Lily wasn't exactly innocent when it came to keeping secrets, but this was different and she was not naïve enough to believe otherwise.

Within minutes, she couldn't take it anymore and so the moment they were pulling out of the parking lot and she was buckling herself in, she was asking what she needed to ask in order to get this over and done with. "Are we not going to talk about this?" She sighed, with Charlie not giving her a response, only annoying her further. The sooner they handled this, the sooner they could resolve it. She was all for saving the arguing for later, but she also knew that wasn't how this was going to go down. Charlie was a lot of things, but she was never one to hold the fight off just to spite someone. "C'mon, you cant be that mad at me. Damon hit me on the head. I'm injured." She tried to joke, pouting, but she knew her sister would see straight through her and she did. But it got her to talk.

"So I am meant to automatically forgive you just because I'm also mad at someone else?" Charlie snapped, speaking, which is what Lily wanted, even if it was not what she wanted to hear. The sooner they talked about this, the sooner they could get over it. "You lied to me. Me. We're supposed to trust each other above anyone and you went behind my back, lying about Kol being here since the day we got to Denver."

"I didn't lie. You never asked!" She argued, swallowing in guilt.

"Oh, you have another thing coming if you think I am letting you off the hook on a technicality."

"It's not-" Lily stopped, gritting her teeth together, trying to hide the fact that Charlie's words were getting to her. "You just don't understand."

"Understand what? I get why you wanted to talk to him, Lils, I do. He's your soulmate. If anyone understands that, it's me, but I'm not mad because you were sneaking around behind my back to see a boy. If anything, I expect it at this point-"

"Then what?" She knew where Charlie's mind had gone and while a small part of her wanted to lie and tell her that sure, she wanted to know Kol because she wanted what Charlie had with Elijah, but she also knew that she couldn't do that because it wasn't right. Besides, Charlie was angry now, but she was far from stupid. She knew her well enough to know Lily would never outright seek something like that from the guy that sabotaged her relationship. Kol may not have forced Louis to break up with her, but he had had a violent hand in making sure Louis knew what kind of guy he was. She knew why she had lied about Kol being in town, but that didn't mean she had to tell Charlie the whole truth about that, too. "If you understand, why are we having this debate, Lottie? And for the record, I didn't want to know Kol because he is my damn soulmate!"

"Then why the fuck would you risk it, Lily?!" She chose to pull over to the side of the road then and Lily jolted in her head, clenching her eyes shut when she heard the strain in Charlie's voice. It was not often that she raised at her voice at her like that for something she had actually done that she felt deserved it, but this time...this time, she knew she had. She had taken a risk, and if she had been wrong about Kol, then the consequences would have led to the death of someone she cared about, someone she wasn't willing to lose, someone that didn't deserve his life gambled like that. If she didn't feel worse before, she certainly did now. "Jeremy is your friend and you can not say Kol would not have hurt him if Klaus asked him to, because he would have. All it took was Bonnie calling his bluff-"
