Lily Prince was trapped in the Gilbert living room, forced inside by someone she has known her whole life, with Klaus freaking Mikaelson. It wasn't as if she had thought Bonnie to be her friend, there was no sense of betrayal there, as she had given up on whatever friendship they had had when she betrayed Charlie, but Jeremy? Jeremy had been her friend. She was willing to let Kol kill him, so she knew it was hypercritical and stupid to feel like he had done this to hurt her, but she couldn't stop her eyes from repeatedly going to the burnt out corpse within sight in the next room. She kept hearing Kol's screams and she watched him die every time she closed her eyes. She was covered in blood from where she had been tossed into the fridge by Elena, and she was certain her nose was broken, but that wasn't why she was crying. It was as if she couldn't breathe. The two of them didn't say a single word to each other for several minutes, before Klaus finally snapped.
"Will you stop that?" He hadn't come close to her from where she remained on the floor by the couch, trying to calm her broken heart. He was by the barrier, glaring into the hallway as if it would magically allow him to leave their prison. "It's bloody irritating."
"Oh, I'm sorry, is my grief bothering you?" She had meant to snap back, but her voice broke, which she must admit, was as annoying to her as she knew it must be to him. She never did like crying. It made her feel weak.
"Your grief? He was my brother and you don't see me leaving snot everywhere-"
"He was my soulmate you bastard!"
Klaus scoffed, clearly not seeing the significance of what Kol was to her. "I thought you hated each other." He ultimately decided to go with.
Lily looked away from him. "I tried to. I don't know when it happened....I just know I loved him and it wasn't...it wasn't long enough."
He stared at her for a moment before he spoke again. "You chose him over your friends." It wasn't a question.
"The soulmate bond didn't make me do that," she replied defensively, her voice still wobbly. "I did that because I wanted to. And they weren't and aren't my friends. Jeremy was....but all he had to do was listen. All of you were just so stupid." Klaus went to resort back, so she continued. "You wanted the cure, whether to destroy it or whatever, but you didn't listen to him and you should have. Now Silas is going to ruin everything. Not that I care anymore."
"So you've just given up then? One lost lover and that's it? No wonder that bloody bond is so pointless."
"I'm not giving up on anything." She went to wipe at her nose but flinched, forgetting Elena had broken it.
Klaus hesitated when he saw her flinch before holding his arm out. "Want me to heal that for you?" At her suspicious glare, he rolled his eyes. "Forgive me for wanting to do one thing right by my dead brother and heal his grieving girlfriend."
"You were a horrible brother to him." She shook her head, refusing his help. "All he ever wanted was to be accepted by you and you couldn't even do that."
"Oh shut up! You don't know a thing about my family."
"And all you've done is ruin mine!" She cried out. "Lottie says you didn't but I bet you're the reason we have that goddamn curse hanging over our heads! You hunted us down like animals for generations, and for what? To stop Elijah from finding happiness? You constantly belittled Rebekah and made Kol feel like shit for everything he ever did! How can you say a word about your family when all you ever did was make them wish they had any brother but you? I mean, fuck, how could they stand you after everything you did?"
