Before~

Chaos... Darkness... Fear...

That's how it started. The beginning of my end and torment. I thought I played my part well. I believed the role suited me. Apparently, not all Olympians thought so.

Ripped from my home and beaten within an inch of death itself. I was dragged through the crowds of Olympus. They looked down on me, sneered even. As if I were the monster behind their misfortune.

Giant golden doors stood before me. Littered with engraving of histories. Slamming open as my captors barged into the vast room. The marble floor cracked as I was thrown. The thrones sat on a high platform. With my kin residing on them. Gods, goddesses, and demigods alike surrounded me.

"Deimos... have you an inkling as to why you were summoned?" Athena, the goddess of war and strategy inquired. Her powerful voice reaching every crevice of the room.

"Yes, I know what events led me here before you." I spoke in a flat tone.

"And you're aware of what must be done?" Poseidon follows soon after Athena.

An eerie silence filled the void. "I'm aware..."

The seven higher gods looked between themselves. Hermes, Aphrodite, as well as Hera appeared regal. Athena was stoic as her namesake claims. Poseidon appeared indifferent while Hades held a sympathetic gaze. As if he knew prior to the gathering. And yet, could do nothing to prevent this outcome.

Zeus, however, mirrored a stone cold exterior. Calm, yet strong. Serious, but filled with fury.

"Then it must come to this. Deimos, as punishment for slaying a fellow god. No matter how justified, or provoked. I, Zeus, hereby banish you from Olympus. Never shall you walk among your people. Traverse the lands of Greece and Rome." Zeus's verdictade the vastness of chamber tremble.

Bloodied and beaten. My chains were removed. I was released, rising from the ground with great difficulty. Soon enough, Erebus, summoned a swirling portal. A mix of violets, ambers, and greens dwelled within.

"I understand... I am forever grateful for your mercy and grace, my Lord." I bowed to the seated Zeus. Whom now held a heartbroken demure. He never wished this upon any of his kin. Hot ripped him open from the inside. They made their laws with the greater good of the pantheon paramount. Zeus knew he couldn't break that law for any deity.

"May you have good fortune in your trials ahead." Zeus projected towards me.

I nodded with a teary eyed smile. Turning back, I face the portal. I step in it's direction briskly. Until I stop before it. The tears that gathered finally fell as I stepped through. Eyes closing in despair and depression.

When the void lifted. I found myself splayed about in a field of sand. Crawling unto my knees, slowly standing. I attempt to take in my new surroundings. My head pounds, my bones ache. Fog covers my vision while I begin to sway.

"Hey, who are you?!" An unknown voice shouts.

"I asked you a question! Tell me why you're here!" It gets closer, thuds sound with each step.

I say nothing, unable to for a single word. Let alone a simple thought.

"Hey! Answer me-! Wait, are you... alright?" The male blur, whom possessed said voice asked. Concern now evident in their voice.

I feel my legs give way and darkness web my vision. Strong arms catch me before I met the sand.

The last image I see is a man, dawning a jackal headpiece. Crimson eyes to match long, flowing locks. The man speaks and fear fills his red eyes.

My eyes close when I feel myself moving. For the first time in eons, I felt calm.

For the first time in a very long time.

I felt safe...

I felt safe
