There was a man clad in gray, shadowed in darkness, and he had approached me with an irresistible offer. In one of his pale hands he held a book and in the other a quill, I could only assume he wanted me to write but as I recall, at that time I didn't even know how. Yet I took both his book and quill with much eagerness. Then he said as I remember: "Collect for me all the stories of this world, for I know it will end. Seek to cover every corner of this great land and come back to me, past the river of life and death you will find me again." and with that he turned and left. This is the journal of Katya's Survey of Anthwyn. This books' contents lie between the cycles of 529 AU to 538 AU. This is the first of five volumes in a collection which describe events all the way up to 563 AU. I, Katya of Smokesburrough cannot verify the veracity of every story recorded in these pages, however, all of which I've described of my own travels are true.
