The Empire stretched back to the time of legends, yet only decades ago, was it torn asunder from the inside. As the march of time decimated the lands of Shenzhou, the people grew to adapt to their precarious situations. Aicin Nuhu, born after the Glorious Revolution, was never able to experience the prosperity and harmony of the Empire of days yonder. Instead, he was thrust into a world he did not bargain for. But as so many others did, he adapted, and he thrived. Naturally talented with Chi infusion techniques, Aicin amassed great wealth and prestige. With graying hair, Aicin commands the most fearsome mercenary band in all of Southern Shenzhou, felling warlords by the dozens, all the while getting paid for it. In the suffering of others he flourished, in his fragmented homeland he prospered. Personally having taken part in the nations fracturing, he has been the culprit behind much suffering. However, Aicin does not hold any domains himself, instead he lives a nomadic life with his merry band. He lives a life without loyalty and without chains. But even with his immense experienced and highly trained band of mercenaries, Aicin still does not know if he would be able to take on the Great Pacifier of the North, he who rules a half of the late Empire. Nor does he know what doing so might drag him into. Conspiracies he would never dream about. Ones that could shake the very fabric of society and change the course of history once again. But hey, a job is a job, and money is money.

The Zesipian Empire is one of two nations who share the Aseavrian continent. It is a resource rich nation, owing to its evolution on the western side of the continent. Blessed with rich farmland, a temperate climate, and a fertile sea, the Empire is thriving. Though, far away from the capital city of Nir is the Greater Zesipian Territory. The region formed when the Zesipians expanded eastward and their population of humans, elves, and halflings bloomed. Most of the territory is arid and infertile. Endless grasslands mixed with scorching heat create harsh conditions. The territory is home for many people forgotten by the Empire who only survive with creativity, ruthlessness, and (some) co-operation. This is a collection of short stories presenting the people who live in this territory.

Dealing with themes of transience, subverted expectations, and far-reaching consequences, this serial follows a large and varied cast through the beginnings of a war - one years in the making but kicked off by a traumatizing massacre. The Crying Lakes Continent has always been tense, and the technological gap between magically abundant lands like Findal and barren lands like Rendel doesn't make things any easier. Propelled forward into an industrial era, antiquated Findal is dangerously close to a fall from power, one which could be total if Rendel successfully seizes their lands. The regency wants to prevent this, the nobles want to preserve the status quo, the smallfolk want to live unbothered, and Knox South for the love of all things holy just wants to get back to his farm already. The Crying Lakes Continent has other things in mind.

Well, you'll see it for yourself if you read it but, Elisabeth is kind of strange 'I'm not strange!', at least it's what she says but still, she does strange things that they may call skills all they want but that's still weird in nowaday, in our world at least, same goes for the people living in the mansion, I mean who are they ? And what's hidden beyond the estate of the household ? Anyway, I think it would be easier to call her a witch rather than a girl--- 'I'm not a witch !'

A Fan-fiction inspired off of the roblox game Muskets and Magic. Where the reader follows the journey of an Ignian Mage, losing allies, making unlikely friends and connections in an adventure during the harsh realities of war. In writing this, I try to stay as accurate as possible with the lore of the M&M world. All events that take place are either from lore or are unrelated, and will have no impact on the lore of the game. All characters are unrelated to the lore. Please forgive me for any liberties taken, this is purely for fun. Stefan Olsen had everything a person could ask for in life: a prestigious education, a well paying job and a loving family. But then the voice called out to him and took everything away. Or perhaps it is more precise to say that it took him away from everything. He was somewhere else; he was someone else. A newly born prince, of some place or other. Not that he cared. He never asked for adventure or drama. All he wanted was to return home to his family. And of such the voice had promised. But there was a condition, as these things often do. He had to unite the world. Whatever that meant. And should he fail to do so before his death...well, the voice had assured him that death was very much a one way street.

For shop girl Evin, alchemy is an understood part of life. She learned how to brew superior potions at a young age and can't imagine her life without the use of Alertness, For General Pain, and Menstrual Cramp Cure. Though already apprenticed to a local master alchemist, she can't help feeling that there might be more for her to achieve. In a different part of the continent, Master Bricot teaches alchemy at the University of Craestor and is working feverishly at his residency project--translating the sacred document The Facerum--when a student of his approaches him seeking help on an unprecedented issue. And south of Craestor in Daitak Capital, the Seat of the World, Emperor Regent Bryn Beynon can't stand potions or those who make and sell them, believing their use, especially martially, to be barbaric and cruel. His first act when coming of age will be to begin imposing legal strictures on the use and sale of such items. Out in the Wilds of Tief, Craix, who travels alone, has never been safe. Not since she was born. Forever trying to evade her pursuers, she travels across the country, constantly intercepting important messages. And over all people in the realm of Heladrith, a pantheon of powerful gods sits in judgement and benevolence, silent for centuries--but not for much longer. Potent is an original, third-person omniscient, past-tense, low fantasy tale with an ensemble cast of approximately eight characters of different genders, orientations, colors, and classes. --Seeking beta readers for this manuscript!
