If only you would glimpse the feeling that I feel. If only you would notice what I'm dying to reveal... — If Only, Little Mermaid Musical

All Hyde could do was to sigh heavily as he continued looking at the still slumbering Eri. Thankfully, he could tell that she was just sleeping heavily without anything else to worry about. He could calm down for now. At the moment, it was just a calm before they get to face another storm.
Once again, he took a deep breath as he stood up and left the room. He had to go to the kitchen for two reasons. One, to cook something since he could already feel his hunger. And two, to calm himself down from worrying too much about Eri's condition. Yes, she was safe and he wasn't too late to save her from getting killed by that mysterious monster that had attacked various Super Sentai members.
There was something else that he couldn't pinpoint at the moment.
After a while, Hyde was able to cook a meal. Not just for himself, but also for Eri, just in case she would finally wake up. Of course, he knew her stomach capacity, especially when she was injured or after a battle. So he definitely had to cook more than the usual amount.
Hyde was able to contact the other Goseigers after that encounter with the mysterious monster. He couldn't help feeling angry and surprised upon learning that his friends had also suffered injuries from that surprise attack.
Just what in the world were they dealing with, anyway? He had heard from the other Super Sentai members that the monster was attacking various superheroes from other planets, as well. Though it was a good thing that no one was killed during the recent attack, who knows what else could happen should that monster start attacking again.
"Are you trying to think of tactics on how to deal with the monster?"
That almost hoarse, but soft voice had snapped him out of his musings. At the same time, his eyes widened as soon as he realized who spoke those words. He raised his head and turned to the direction where the voice came from.
"Eri! How come you're up? You're supposed to be resting!"
Yes, he would be ready to admit to acting like an old man for scolding Eri like this. He didn't mind, anyway. He was worried.
"Don't worry too much, Hyde. My injuries aren't even that serious," she said as she walked towards the table where the food was placed.
With an excited expression on her face, she took what was supposed to be his plate and placed it in front of her.
"Ah, I'm so hungry!"
Hyde could only watch Eri gobble up the food with so much gusto that he could just smile at the sight of it. For one, it was enough for him to see that she'd be able to recover soon. But the most important thing for him at the moment was...
'She's here... She's still here...'
He had no idea where that thought came from. Or... perhaps he knew. He just couldn't acknowledge it to himself at the moment. Then again, there was a reason why he couldn't.
Hyde... was scared. He was scared at the thought of truly losing Eri in any other way. More so that it scared him so much to think that Eri would disappear forever.
"Aren't you even going to eat? You cooked this 'cause you're hungry, right?" Eri asked, soon snapping him out of his reverie.
He sighed before answering. "I was, but you're in a hurry and appeared to be hungrier than I was that you even have to take my plate."
A small, sheepish smile soon appeared on Eri's face as she looked down at the plate she was using. He shook his head, purely out of amusement, before heading back to the kitchen to get his own plate and a set of spoon, fork, and even chopsticks.
"Sorry..." was all that Eri had said. But even so, it didn't look like she was truly sorry.
The cheeky smile on her face only made him realize that she was, in fact, teasing him.
"You're not hurt during that battle, are you?"
Her question froze him as soon as he sat down and placed the plate and utensils on the table. He soon looked up and saw Eri looking at him, her expression appeared to be expecting.
She was waiting for him to answer.
"You should be worrying more about yourself, you know?" he replied and just proceeded with getting his own food.
"Well, obviously, I looked fine. Thanks to you and Alata."
It looked like she still remembered some bits of what happened while they were fighting the mysterious monster.
"I'm still well enough to fight again, if that's what you're worried about. If you want to join in soon, you better do what you can to heal and recover. It looks like we'll be needing all the help that we can get in order to fight that monster."
"But we still don't know who we are dealing with. How can we defeat it if we're unaware of its full capability?"
"The other Super Sentai members are already doing the best that they can to figure that out. The rest of us will just have to become stronger and more capable if we want to stop him from destroying our world," Hyde declared and faced Eri soon after. "So make sure that you eat plenty and do your best to recover fast. I know you're itching to fight that monster again. Of course, I'm sure that it's not just you."
Hyde couldn't understand why.
Eri just smiled and nodded. Not long after, she continued to eat more as she placed more rice on her plate and ate again.
And yet... why did his heart start hammering in his chest like crazy? This wasn't the first time Eri smiled like that in front of him.
So why?
Then again, he was aware that the answer he was looking for could be a little far-fetched. Maybe, he should worry about that some other time.

So the saga of that mysterious monster attacking Super Sentai members continues. At least, I'd like to continue it as I focus on various couples. Now that I think about it, this is actually the second time I've featured a pairing within this saga that are within their respective series and not a crossover. The other one was the Satoru/Sakura pair from Boukenger. Should I feature another one? Hmm... In any case, enjoy reading!
