Here, I am blowing this little stream

of blue vapor into your parted lips.

Here, I am placing my hands on your chest

in an X while my red nails distract

the crowd of impostor lifeguards

closing in. Here is the place to raise

the tent, I can feel it in my bones.

The snake has perfected his skin, he is

ready to be lifted and passed. How

did I do it? The process was messy,

I'd rather not share it, but look, look

at us now. Lemon drops and cherry bombs.

It's the eye of the tiger, went the song

I used to sing in the basement alone.

A violent knocking on the door wakes me up, and before I can even manage to pry my eyelids open the door slams open. I roll over into my pillow, groaning.

"Well fuck me two ways from Sunday, you're both still alive." Tony is standing in the doorway.

"Jesus, Tony," I yawn, rolling onto my side to look at him properly. "Have some decency."

"Don't be coy," Tony teases. "Have we kissed and made up by now?"

"Anthony," I warn, peering at him. Loki is struggling to sit up beside me in the narrow bed. Tony crosses his arms over his chest and looks me up and down.

"Well, you're still in yesterday's clothes, so I'm going to have to go ahead and commend you both on your sheer will power. Because, considering how many months it's been since you've seen one another, I was surprised you didn't tear each other's clothes off right then and there in front of everyone upstairs."

"Oh my god, Stark. Are we done now? Have you sufficiently made it awkward enough for your taste?" I demand to know as I throw my legs over the side of the bed and plant my feet firmly on the floor. I'm about ready to make him shut up.

Tony smirks. "Yes, I believe I'm satisfied."

"Farewell then, Stark," Loki says pointedly. Tony disappears, closing the door behind him. The second he does, I flop back onto my back and Loki leans over me, propped up on his elbow.

"Hey," I say with a smile. He smiles back as he runs his hands across my waist, pulling me closer to him.

"How are you feeling?"

"Exhausted, but much better now," I admit with a slight blush. Sometimes being with Loki makes me feel utterly...divine. No godly puns intended, I swear. I purse my lips before moving on to what I want to ask about because I don't like the potential to spoil the moment. Loki presses a kiss to my temple and once he looks into my eyes his smile turns to a frown.

"What's the matter?"

"I was going to wait, but it's been eating away at me," I say, sitting upright, crossing my legs underneath me. He lets out a sigh and his head falls back onto the pillow. He stares up at the ceiling but says nothing further on the matter. "So...what took so long?"
