7 Chapter 7: Angelina Was Set FreeTen months after Angelina became pregnant, Mr. Jack realized that she should have given birth by now. Concerned, they decided to visit a hospital for a checkup.
The next morning, they went to the hospital, where the doctor informed them that Angelina needed an operation, which would cost five hundred thousand Naira.
They left the hospital anxiously, wondering how they would get the money for the operation.
Twelve months passed, and Angelina's pregnancy continued, causing them further distress. A friend suggested they visit a native doctor for a solution. Desperate, they agreed and went to see the native doctor.
The native doctor consulted the oracle and told them that a sacrifice to the gods was needed—a ram.
Mr. Jack obtained a ram, presented it for the sacrifice, and followed the native doctor's instructions to take the sacrifice to a roundabout area.
The native doctor advised them to remain patient, assuring them that Angelina would soon give birth to a baby girl. Trusting his words, they returned home.
Two weeks later, they were invited to a church revival and decided to attend.
During the prayer session, the prophet leading the service asked Mr. Jack and Angelina to see him afterward.
After the service, they met with the prophet in his office. He asked Angelina, "How many months have you been pregnant?"
"It has been over a year," she replied.
The prophet said, "I see that your womb has been bound." He urged Angelina to recall any woman she might have offended.
Angelina remembered her actions against Mrs. Hope and informed the prophet. He advised her to seek forgiveness.
"Thank you, sir. I will go to her tomorrow and ask for forgiveness."
"Alright, may the Lord touch her heart."
"Amen," they replied together.
The prophet prayed for them, and after the prayer, they left.
The next day, Angelina tried to visit Mrs. Hope, but upon arriving at her compound, she discovered that Mrs. Hope had moved away, and no one knew her new location.
That evening, Angelina and Mr. Jack returned to the prophet to update him on their situation.
The prophet advised them to fast and pray for seven days, trusting in God's guidance.
Angelina and Mr. Jack committed themselves to fasting and prayer, attending church every day.
At the end of the seven days, they met with the prophet again.
The prophet shared a vision, saying, "Tomorrow evening at six, go to the beach. You will find a fisherman with a single fish. Buy that fish from him, take it home, and cut it open. Inform me of anything you find inside."
Expressing their gratitude, they promised to return with news the following evening and left the church.
The next day, Mr. Jack and Angelina went to the beach as instructed.
They found a fisherman who had caught a single fish after trying all day. Frustrated, the fisherman was about to leave when Mr. Jack offered to buy the fish.
Initially, the fisherman refused. "This is the only fish I caught today, and we need it at home."
"Okay, sir, I understand. But how much do you want to sell it for? Just tell me any amount, and I will buy it."
