Chantelle sighed, shaking her head, "I told you, I'm not sleeping with you," she said again, crossing her legs as she brought them up onto the couch, "And why would I sleep with you, is the question?"
"Maybe because, like I said to your brother, I'm in charge here?" Klaus smirked, his eyes never leaving her, waiting for her reaction.
Chantelle raised an eyebrow, "And what makes you think that gives you any power over me?" she asked, her voice laced with amusement.
"I don't know, maybe because I'm older and wiser," Klaus suggested, trying to sound as persuasive as possible.
Chantelle chuckled, shaking her head, "You are absolutely not wiser, Niklaus Mikaelson."
"I'm a thousand years old, Athena," Klaus smirked, stretching his arms out above his head and yawning, "I think that qualifies me for a bit of wisdom."
"You may be old, Klaus," Chantelle countered, "But wise?" she asked, raising an eyebrow in disbelief, "It has been scientifically proven that women are more intelligent than men. And that women mature faster. And that women can stand up to three times the amount of pain that men can. So no, you are not wiser, Klaus," she concluded, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning back into the couch, "You just like to use your old age as an excuse to be arrogant."
Klaus let out a small chuckle, shaking his head, "You're something else, Athena," he admitted, "But I do have one more thing going for me, and that's that I'm a good kisser."
Chantelle's eyes widened slightly, "You're a good kisser?" she asked, a hint of disbelief in her voice.
"The women seem to think so," Klaus replied, smirking, "And it's not like you can disprove it."
"Maybe not," Chantelle countered, "But it also doesn't mean I have to believe it."
With that said, Chantelle went back on her phone and the room descended into silence. Klaus couldn't believe that she was so openly defiant with him. It was kind of refreshing how she so bravely corrected him all the time.
Klaus stared at her for a long while, sitting up in the bed as he tilted his head. Eventually he got up from the bed and walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her small frame and lifting her over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" Chantelle demanded, her face flushing with embarrassment and a hint of anger as she tried to push against his shoulders, but found herself unable to move. And then she took it a step further, slapping his behind, "Let me go!"
"You really think you can challenge me?" Klaus laughed, walking over to the bed and depositing her onto it, still smirking at her indignant expression.
"I don't challenge you, I just don't take your nonsense seriously!" Chantelle huffed, crossing her arms over her chest again, glaring at him.
