The Last Bargain

Chapter 2

The anticipation is building as the trip is just two days away! The "homo-crazians" group chat is buzzing with excitement as we plan for our week-long vacation. Urmilla is leading the charge, sending videos, and planning for all the fun videos we'll create to make this trip trend. Everyone's getting in on the action, and we're all eagerly deciding what to wear and pack.

"Remember to bring a selfie stick with you, Urmilla babe; you always forget it. "
Maeve entrusted Urmilla with all the trend videos and pics and sent the text to the group.

"I WILL NOT FORGET THIS TIME" Urmilla replied.

"Ahhhhhh, I can't wait another two days for the trip to hit the road; I wanna leave now."
Freesia can hardly contain her excitement, expressing her impatience to leave for the trip right away.

There's lots of laughter and excitement in our discussions. As we chat about our silly little plans, we're all so excited, and after joking around for a while, we finally say our goodbyes.

TRIP DAY (Maeve POV)

Freesia, Urmilla, Anya, and Zee were already there, and as usual, Fiona, Riley, and Adeline were late. We gave each one a bone-crushing hug, and damn, the girlies were looking pretty as; if angels were real, I'm pretty sure Im seeing the reflection of them in their image.
Seeing my homies other than in casual outfits never ceases to dull my day for a moment.
Urmilla kept her promise and finally remembered to have a selfie stick with her this time. Urmilla and I laughed at this while throwing heads in the air, every time I'm with my gang my auto smile turns on and I can't keep all the happiness in my heart they bring to me, they always motivate me to keep going, and keep coming to this dull, boring and hectic college.

"HEYYYY!" Riley finally came and yelled with keenness while skipping with joy, her eyes brightening while looking at all of us; she was practically running to get to us and hugged us each one by one.

"Has Adeline still not arrived?" Riley asked while looking at Zee.

"You know I messaged her, and she said she's on the way and will be here in 5 minutes," Zee said.

"And let me guess, it's been 10 minutes already. Right?" Riley replied

"Hahaha, You are right." We all laughed while waiting for Adeline and Fiona.

Approximately ten minutes later, they both arrived too, while holding hands and smiling from ear to ear, we greeted and hugged them and they greeted us with the same intensity, after taking loads of goofy and pretty pictures and waiting for the trip bus to arrive, we settled our huge dump of luggage into a corner and sat on benches, we gossiped and share our daily talks.

It was the start of the winter, and thank heavens for this because our makeup wasn't melting. I would always prefer winter over sticky and stinky summer; 30 minutes passed in the blink of an eye, and the bus finally arrived.

"YAAYYYYY!" we all screamed in joy after looking at the bus from afar, just like a bunch of children when they got a new toy.

We were the first ones to get on the bus to get eight seats side by side in the last rows; it's not fun if we don't sit together; our luggage was managed by the teachers and porters.
When all the students finally settled around after a sudden rush in the bus, and the bus was once again calm, a professor whose face and name I couldn't recognize walked up to the front and explained all the rules. Honestly, no was paying any attention to him except a few one.

The teacher once again repeated the location for which we were leaving and called out to all the attendees of the trip; after compulsory work was done, the party finally started.  During trips, the ride to the location was the most fun, Music was finally blasting, it was a custom that I always handled the music for parties and trips, I'm glad dudes trusted my music taste and our grand dancer Urmilla always heat the air with her damn dance moves and aura, she's so soft and demure but when she dances it's like a whole another person shines out of her, we all life for that moment.

The isle of the bus is always narrow and honestly, all the fun lies in that little narrow isle, at that time we don't care who's watching us or judging us, we just dance and scream the lyrics with our hoarse ugly voices even if we know our throat is going to be sore after,  when the driver suddenly hits the brake, we also hit the ground, they always become the best core memory and nostalgia. To be fair, we dance ugly too mostly, like a monkey trying to climb an invisible tree but living in the present is the best one can do so we don't regret our appearance. All the adrenaline rush moves through our veins and everyone can sense it too.

The duration of the travel is approximately 8 hours, we mostly party for 2- 3 hours, then get tired after balancing our dance on the moving vehicle and then turn to sleep or talk with one another in whispers, while in the background soft music plays, helping to calm down the nerves, that peaceful moment feels like life is worth living, comfortable silence fills the air, while Fiona puts her head on the shoulder of Adeline, Adeline also puts her head on top of Fiona's head.

Most students, Freesia, Anya, Riley, Zee, and Adeline were into a deep slumber after 4 hours on the bus when suddenly the same teacher stood up, came to the front of the aisle of the bus cleared his throat to have the attention of the students, most students woke up from their gentle snooze and the one who was already awake was waking one the remaining students by tapping their shoulders.

" I have an announcement. There were sudden changes in the plans and the school authority changed the location of the trip after a deliberate"
The teacher declared.

Everyone gasped in disbelief and curiosity.

"Huhh, why so suddenly?", Freesia said loudly, there were loud chatters all around.

"ATTENTION," the teacher said while smacking the wall of the bus loudly to get the attention of the students.

Everyone in once shut their mouth and listened to the teacher

"the parents are already informed, and you will get a reassuring email from the college, listing all the changes," she explained the situation.

"But, Sir can we ask the reason why the changes so suddenly? I asked with curiosity, My thin eyebrows squinting. Everyone had to ask questions.

" it's because the college wanted it to be a little surprise for you and when you reach the location, you all students will know the reason behind it and you all as college students will also have to study that place and make a report on it"

Zee opened her emails, looking for the email the teacher just mentioned, but she couldn't reload her emails because the internet wasn't working.

"Guys? Are u getting any network signals? " Zee said with a tone that expressed her concern. She was looking at us for answers.
I also opened my phone to check my network, and there was no signal at all.

Everyone also checked their respective phones but no one had any signal.
"Guys! How are we going to check our emails then?"  Anya voiced out my concern.

"Why don't we ask the sir?" I gave an idea; while everyone was still whispering and discussing the sudden changes, I asked the sir the same questions. He was getting annoyed by all the questions, but the students were right there.

"If anyone is still able to use their IQ here then you all will know that it's a mountain area and there's currently no connection here, when we all reach the desired location, you can check the emails," Sir said, and proceed to sit down on his seat leaving a gasp of annoyance after replying to many questions.

"DAYUMM, what was that behavior," Zee said.

"Yeah! Why is he getting so touché ?" Riley said in an infuriating tone; her despair was visible.

"Well anyway! I'm excited about this little surprise. Let's get happy again guys, don't worry." Urmilla, as usual, was the light and hope for all of us.

Everyone was settled down and, was at peace after being cleared of all their concern. No one could get back to sleep after that thrilled moment; we were only half an hour away from our spot.

The driver finally hit the brake turned off the engine and informed that we were at our location.
