Today was the day. My mom and dad began rushing around our house, unboxing furniture and discussing where to keep what. I just stood at the front door like an idiot. We were lucky to get back the same house we had seven years ago. The only difference, everything was different. The streets, the exterior, the trees, the birds.. everything. Except his house. It was beside ours.
We had our room windows facing eachothers, and every night we'd open them, throwing water balloons at people who passed by. All while hiding it from our parents, of course.
Perks of being wizards in a town of muggles, I suppose.
"Celia, are you just going to stand there?" My father spoke. I looked around. The house was exactly how it was seven years ago. It doesn't take long to set it up with the help of magic. "Sorry." I sighed, walking towards him. "Fiora, do the Berkshire's still live around?" My dad asked, throwing an arm around my shoulder as he called out to my mom. "I think so." She responded, walking out of the kitchen.
I remained quiet. Her eyes landed on me. "You remember them, don't you, Cici?" She asked with a smile. I nodded awkwardly. "Yeah, you and the boy got along really well." My dad said, rolling his eyes with a sigh. "Mason." This time, my mom rolled her eyes, speaking in a warning tone.
Just as my dad was about to speak, there was a ring on our door. My dad removed his arm off my shoulder, walking towards the door to open it. "Bella!" I heard my father exclaim. Bella? Where had I heard that name before? "Mason, Fiora! How lovely to see you two again." The woman spoke as my mom strode over to her, welcoming her in.
Bella. Enzo's mom. "Celia!" She gasped upon seeing me. My father chuckled. I smiled awkwardly as she pulled me in for a tight hug. "Hello, Bella." I laughed nervously. I wasn't a hugger. "Oh, how much you've grown!" She awed. I smiled, a genuine one this time. "I wish I could bring Lorenzo over. Sadly, he just left yesterday." She said, a hand still on my shoulder as she looked at my mom.
"Left? To where?" My mom asked. "Hogwarts! It's his last year there." She responded proudly. "Speaking of that, didn't Celia get her letter when she turned 11?" Bella asked. I did. But my parents didn't have enough money to send me abroad yet— with us still in the States. "She did, actually. But studying in Ivelmory— I highly doubt if Hogwarts might allow her again." My mom sighed. "Nonsense, of course they will." Bella pshed, taking her hand off.
"Simply write a letter to the old man, and send her the day after." She said. My dad looked at me, an eyebrow raised. I shrugged. "I'd love to finish studying magic." I said. My mom nodded. "Perfect, thank you, Bella." My mom said as they leaned in for a hug.
I sighed.
Hogwarts. Tomorrow. Nothing more could be a bigger change than this.
