The annoying sound of my alarm clock woke me up. I sighted because I just realised what day is today. It was 7am and I really didn't want to get up, nor I was excited for the upcoming events. I closed my eyes again but then I heard my dad yelling from downstairs "hey, get up you lazy thing." I rolled my eyes. Today marked the 29th of August and I had a meeting with the principal of my new school, the Jefferson County high school.
Finally, I got up and came downstairs to the kitchen. I sat down at the table and started eating breakfast.
-time skip-
It was time to go. Me and my dad got into our Nissan while my two sisters were still peacefully sleeping at home.
The school was about 20 minutes far from our home, when you go by car. We live in an area where there's no poblic transportation, so the only way I could get to school on time, without needing to get up too early, was riding my motorcycle or like today - with my dad by car.
-20 minutes later-
My dad parked the car. My stress level increased on it's maximum while I slowly climbed the stairs. The huge door of the school was widely opened. I stepped to the corridor and a sign appeared next to me. I stopped and started looking at it with a bit of interest. Out of nowhere my dad said "Look, the principal is on the first floor, the door number is 17."
We got to the principal's office, greeted and sat. Mr. Johnson looked at some papers on his desk and started talking "Uhh... So from what I can see... You moved here from a different... country..."
"Yes, I came all over from the Czech Republic" I said.
"On what level is your English, Jany?" he asked.
"Well,, in my old school I've completed a few English hight level exams to get some kind of certificate. I don't remember which level it was, though. But personally I'd say I'm pretty good. Sure it's not like a native speaker, but still good" this, a bit narcissistic, sentence ended my monologue.
"Hmm... I hear that. You don't even have a much of accent" the principal said.
We talked to him for about an hour. He also showed us the school and the class I should go on the first school day. Then we finally left.
The second my dad stopped the car on our driveway I ran back home, grabbed the keys from my motorbike and my helmet. I sprinted to the garage where my bike was standing along with my two other bikes. I'm glad I could move them here too. I put down my red Mustang from stand and walked outside with it. Already wearing my matt black motorcycle helmet, I sat on my bike, pumped some gas and tried to start. Sure my perfect 50cc Jawa started on a first kick.
I was cruising the streets of Danville on daily basis, because I wanted to explore the city as much as I could before the school starts. I haven't mady any friends here and knew I won't even in school.
I came back home around 1pm, right for lunch. 3 days of holiday left a I was stressed as hell...
